For proper development and functioning, every human being needs a point of reference, which, in combination with experience, will be the model of his or her path of life. These points are laid out by people who occupy important places at different stages of life. In relationships with them, a person learns the truth about himself, grows up, learns respect, tolerance, and develops empathy. The characteristics of intellectual disability point out that it contributes to the occurrence of certain difficulties in the social functioning of the individual. Therefore, we have focused on the group of people with intellectual disabilities, because we want to know the possibilities of supporting the normalization process of their lives.
