The paper deals with bankruptcy models generated by multiple discriminant analysis. It evaluates their design. It addresses the shortcomings by which such bankruptcy models (especially Altman's indexes) feature. The conclusion is then focused on the possibility of application Altman's indexes in the Czech Republic. It respectively, oers two options for correction of existing indices, which could increase their explanatory value. It's just necessary to assess the depth of the correction to the applicable bankruptcy model and its relevant information value.

The goal of this contribution is to discuss changes of current situation in retail business in the Czech Republic and analyse influence of financial crisis. Since store location and price have always played an important role in consumer decision making, the contribution will focus on the modifying the retail marke- ting mix from the point of view of overall impact on the retail business.

The main goal of this paper is to compare nowadays higher education institutions funding attitudes within EU countries. The recent economic downturn has furthermore contributed to the decision in many European countries to decrease the levels of investment into higher education. Across Europe strong HEI's dependence on public funding continues but an increasing number of EU countries introduced different types of fees to be paid by tertiary education students. Targeted financial support to particular students mitigated the effects of study fees. Grants and loans for students at tertiary level are a major strand of public expenditure. For future sustainability funding sources have been diversified, containing a mixture of public and private funding sources.

Cílem tohoto příspěvku je porovnat současné přístupy k financování vysok ých škol v zemích EU. Současná ekonomická situace přispívá v mnoha evropských zemích ke snižování investic do vysokoškolského vzdělávání. Ve všech zemích Evropy přetrvává vysoká závislost vysokoškolských institucí na veřejném financování, avšak rostoucí počet zemí EU již zavedl různé druhy poplatků, které musí studenti v terciárním vzdělávání platit. Dopad těchto poplatků za studium je řešen cílenou finanční podporou studentù, přičemž hlavní část veřejných výdajů do této oblasti činí stipendia a studentské půjčky. Pro budoucí udržitelnost musí být zdroje diverzifikovány a financování být uskutečňováno kombinací veřejných a soukromých zdrojů.

The goal of this contribution is to describe and analyse the Irish system of quality management in higher professional education, summarize the key factors of quality assurence and compare it to the situation in continental Europe, especially in the Czech Republic. The strenghts and weaknesses of Irish quality assurence model will be discussed and the final goal is to evaluate applicability of this system to the Czech Republic.

The story deals with application of two approaches to the evaluation on a specific example - a national corporation Budweiser Budvar. First, we are applying both a financial rating of the company through the financial analysis based on the concept of Mr. Synek and Mrs. Kislingerov´a. Then we use the calculation of economic added value offered by husbands Neumaier. Statements financial from the years 2003 to 2006 were used for the evaluation of the company. With the application of two different philosophies can get an idea of their use in practice, predicative the value and meaning.

The very tough fight for customers in the retail trade is reflected by the strong growth in the number of products sold under private labels that are currently becoming an important factor in business competitiveness. These are brands that are produced and offered by retailers under their own name or brand. The range of retail brands is very extensive. While in the past, they were offered primarily as a low cost alternative to national and international brands, nowadays, these products have been competing with them at a higher price level as a so-called standard or premium private label. The aim of this paper is to analyze and discuss the relationship of Czech consumers to these private brands.

Retailers are taking greater responsibility for their employees than before. Responsible behaviour of retailers is also focused on the support of the surrounding community.

This article analyzes the main indicators of the labour market in the Czech Republic, Russia and European Union. The authors seek relation of labour market development and global financial crisis followed by recession in European countries. The main problems of high unemployment rate, structural differences and very strong youth unemployment and its possible consequences are discussed too. Attention is also paid to the development of nominal and real wages.
