The main goal of this article is identification of dependence between cash and accrual returns on total assets and sales of enterprises from TSL sector in the years 2004–2009, together with an identification of determinants of this dependence. The research hypothesis which was put in this article that there is no significant positive correlation between accruals and cash returns on assets and sales in the investigated companies was confirmed. The recognition of dependence between rates of return on both an accrual basis and a cash flow basis has been done with using of the Spearman's rank correlation.

This paper contains results of research into the variety of financial position of polish joint- -stock companies from building industry in terms of net profit or net loss and operating net cash flow. The recognition of variety of this position and separation of homogenous groups of enterprises has been done with using of the cluster analysis. The analysis has allowed defining of mutual location of clusters and corporations contained in them. The average value of examined variables for individual clusters has become the principal standards of diagnosis of economic units’ financial state.

The main goal of this paper is analysis of business development differentiation of the TSL sector companies in Poland. The paper is divided into two main parts. In first one, there are presented the results of the fundamental empirical research on differentiation in the sector scope of activities of the TSL sector enterprises in 2007–2009. In second part the author undertook the analysis of dependence between the diversification of activity objects of the surveyed companies and the value of the net revenues from the sale of products (services), goods and materials. For the realization of the article it has been put the research hypothesis stating that between the level of diversification of economic activities of the TSL sector companies and the value of net revenues from the sales of products (services), goods and materials, there exists the significant positive correlation. The recognition of direction and strength of the dependence between the analyzed variables has been done with using of the Spearman's rank correlation.

Despite of commonly used the term „enterprise financial security”, the issue is not clearly defined and raises a lot of controversy. The reasons for this are many, but certainly one of the most important among them is a tendency of the enterprise to take risks. The fundamental goal of this paper is to define the enterprise financial security and indication of the key areas of its evaluation. The main thesis of this article is the statement that we can not talk about the enterprise financial security, if it does not have satisfactory, financial prospects and conditions for the continuation and development of its business activity.

Despite of commonly used the term „enterprise financial security” the issue is not clearly defined and raises a lot of controversy. In the Polish and foreign literature there is no synthetic measure of the enterprise financial security. The fundamental goal of this paper is identification the key, cash-based and accrual-based measures of the enterprise financial security. The main thesis of this article is the assertion that the need for satisfactory financial perspectives (conditions) for the continuation and development of business activities implies the necessity for the parallel measurement and evaluation of cash-based and accrual-based measures, which is consequently the basis for effective and efficient management of business entity, its continued activity and development

The main goal of this paper is analysis the range of differentiation in the level of the ability of the transport, forwarding and logistic enterprises to obtain and maintain the financial condition which is favourable for continue their business activity. For the realization of fundamental goal of the article it has been put the research hypothesis stating that forwarding companies retain a higher level of operational financial security in relation to other companies from the TSL sector. The recognition of this diversification range of the analysed variable has been done with using of the basic descriptive statistics (i.e., the mean and median) and Kruskal-Wallis Test in SPSS.
