Work hyperactivity – psychological aspectWorkoholism is an over-activism, which similarly to other addictions is an illness connected with biological, psychical and spiritual areas of a man. For a workoholic work becomes a priority for  hich he sacrifices all values important for him so far such as: health, family, friends, rest, sleep and hobbies. He is unable to use time properly, to draw satisfaction from everyday life; he is blind to beauty and deaf to other people’s problems. He is thinking only about work. Nothing else is important to him. With time friendship and love become less and less important. Work becomes his “second home” and replaces the deepening existential emptiness. The article attempts, on the basis of empirical experiments, to answer the following questions:– What constitutes the source of this particular addiction?– What are the consequences of overworking? Results show that there is no correlation between WZA and professional over-activism. I suppose that the main reason for it is the fact that people who were subject to the experiments were in middle age. At this moment of life work is a form of dealing with the middle age crisis.
