The concept of legacies did not appear in the functioning of the state archives until 1957, when a decree of the Council of Ministers introduced the provision that the state archival holdings would include materials resulting from the activities of state and social activists, as well as scholars, writers, and artists. Although state archives were already permitted to collect legacies, the Leszno archive remained uninterested in them for many years. The first legacy was acquired by the State Archives in Leszno in 2004 and was handed over by the then-director of the archive, Dr Aleksander Piwoń. The legacy concerned Rev. Teodor Korcz, a prelate and parish priest of St. Nicholas Parish, a Dachau prisoner, and it dates from 1933 to 2001. It contains 12 archival units. The collected material pertains to the life and activities of the creator of the legacy, with particular attention to the gathered correspondence. Another legacy received by the Leszno institution was the one handed over by Prelate Konrad Kaczmarek, parish priest of St. Nicholas Parish in Leszno. He handed it over in 2010. It dates from 1967 to 2010 and consists of 49 archival units. The materials include information about both the prelate himself and the parishes where he resided. The most recent legacy related to the Leszno clergy was handed over in 2016 by Grażyna Janusz. It pertains to Rev. Sylwester Marciniak, a chaplain to the sick, youth educator, and also a Dachau prisoner. It covers the years 1930-1979 and consists of 3 archival units. Among the preserved materials are letters and photographs. The legacies of the Leszno archives concerning priests form a valuable addition to its holdings. The collected material contains many important pieces of information for the history of the region, particularly for the parishes in Leszno.

Artykuł przybliża pojęcie i historię spuścizny w funkcjonowaniu archiwów państwowych. Dopiero w 1957 r w rozporządzeniu Rady Ministrów wprowadzono zapis, że w skład państwowego zasobu archiwalnego wchodzą materiały powstałe w wyniku działalności działaczy państwowych i społecznych, pracowników nauki, literatury i sztuki. Od tego momentu archiwa mogły gromadzić spuścizny. W artykule omówiono także proces przejmowania spuścizn przez archiwum leszczyńskie, które przez wiele lat nie gromadziło tego typu materiałów, a które w ostatnich latach znacząco zintensyfikowało ten proces. Artykuł przedstawia spuścizny księży przejęte przez Archiwum Państwowe w Lesznie w różnych okolicznościach i od różnych osób. W artykule przedstawiono biogramy twórców spuścizna więc ks. Teodora Korcza, ks. Konrada Kaczmarka i ks. Sylwestra Marciniaka. Szczegółowo zostały także omówione materiały wchodzące w skład poszczególnych zespołów. Przekazane do leszczyńskiego archiwum spuścizny dotyczące księży stanowią cenne uzupełnienie zasobu, zgromadzony materiał zawiera wiele ważnych informacji dla historii regionu, a zwłaszcza dla leszczyńskich parafii.
