This paper analyses the notions of "religious language" and "religious style" and attempts to designate their interaction in Slavic teolinguistics. The criteria of description for the religious language and religious style are proposed. The work contains three main parts. In the first part, entitled "Religious style," the author, based on papers published since the 1990s, analyses the reasoning of Polish, Russian and Ukrainian linguists concerning religious style. In the process of analyzing similarities and differences in approaches, the aforementioned phenomena are compared. The author holds the opinion that religious style is a more functional style of the national language, the emergence of which is related to translations of liturgical texts into national languages. In the second part, entitled "Religious language," the problems relating to the study of religious language are analyzed. Attention is drawn to the fact that religious language is communicative means between the man and the God, and among believers, in which their own world-image is reflected. The author emphasises that religious language is a universal phenomenon concerning more than one language and more than one religion. This part raises issues of variability, stylistic, and genre differentiation of religious language. In the third part, entitled "Differentiation of the religious language: the correlation between 'religious language' and 'religious style,'" conclusions are drawn stating that the notions "religious language" and "religious style" are not synonymous and are connected to each other as the general and the particular. Religious language, as well as secular language, is unhomogeneous, and reveals the availability of variations and stylistic and genre differentiation. The styles and genres of religious language have a lot in common with the styles and genres of secular language, but at the same time they have their own specific features. In the conclusion, the author presents his own vision of the described problem and proposes the criteria of the integrated description of religious language.

Настоящая статья посвящена функционально-семантическому описанию русской и польской терминологии теолингвистики. В ходе исследования с использованием русских и польских лексикографических источников были проанализированы толкования слов, которые a priori могут выполнять функцию теолингвистических терминов; изучены особенности их функционирования в русско- и польскоязычных теолингвистических текстах; проведен выбор и семный анализ русских и польских терминов, вошедших в состав понятийно-терминологического поля „теолингвистика”.

Artykuł poświęcony jest funkcjonalno-semantycznemu opisowi rosyjskiej i polskiej terminologii teolingwistyki. W trakcie badań, na podstawie rosyjskich i polskich źródeł leksykograficznych, przeanalizowano definicje słów, które a priori mogą pełnić funkcje terminów teolingwistycznych; zostały zbadane właściwości ich funkcjonowania w rosyjskich i polskich tekstach teolingwistycznych; dokonano selekcji i analizy semowej terminów rosyjskich i polskich wchodzących w skład pojęciowo-terminologicznego pola „teolingwistyka”.

This article is devoted to the functional and semantic description of the Russian and Polish terminology of theolinguistics. Russian and Polish lexicographic sources were used to analyze the interpretation of words that a priori can perform the function of theolinguistic terms; the features of their functioning in Russian- and Polish-language theolinguistic texts were studied; the selection and seminal analysis of Russian and Polish terms included in the conceptual and terminological field "theolinguistics" was carried out.

This article is an attempt at a theolinguistic description of such concepts as manipulation, persuasia, and religious language. The author focuses primarily on the theoretical aspect of the stated problem. In the first part of the work, such concepts as manipulation, persuasia and speech influence are analyzed. Their hierarchy is being organized and it is concluded that persuasia and manipulation, when considered in “pure form” is the polar form of speech influence, different in means of achieving the goal: if persuasia is an open speech influence, suggesting a deliberate choice by the recipient, speech influence with the sign “+”, then the manipulation is speech influence, often using hidden mechanisms with the aim of achieving a result, do not necessarily coincident with the interests of the recipient, speech influence with the sign “–”. The second part of the work describes the religious language and its functions. Special attention is paid to the instrumental function – the function of using langu age as a means to achieve certain goals. Attention is drawn to the fact that the use of the form and content of religious language not only opens the way for various kinds of manipulations with language and with the help of language, but also for persuasia: the transfer of relevant knowledge, the formation of beliefs, ideas about true values.
