Even though the description of the universe in cosmology is known to be given by a smooth 4-dimensional Lorentz manifold for energies below Planck scale, one still can ask about the origins of this phenomenon. In this paper we show that mathematics used for description of quantum systems at micro scale determines smoothness of spacetime at large cosmological scales and indicates the dimension 4 as the only possible dimension for spacetime.

The paper begins with a brief characterization of the situation of modern man with regard to the phenomena of anonymity and loneliness caused by the lack of the traditional values and beliefs without which the question of the meaning of human life cannot be seriously approached, and a truly meaningful future thus cannot be looked forward to. Acknowledging the need for searching for a system of global humanistic ethical principles, it then argues that the fundamental principle of these explorations should be personal dignity and the awareness of the common good. These are personalistic categories, important in the pluralist world and consistent with the Christian vision of man. The paper presents educational premises that, it suggests, should be followed if upbringing and education are to be fully personalistic processes, and describes phenomena inconsistent with the principles of personalism, making reference to the principle of subsidiarity, which in the context of upbringing and education means freedom to choose the good and to implement it, and to the philosophy of rationalism which perceives the human being in terms of a personal being and defines the main manifestation of human nature as the desire to achieve a certain kind of fulfillment.

Punktem wyjścia jest krótka charakterystyka współczesnej sytuacji człowieka w odniesieniu do zjawisk anonimowości i samotności spowodowanych brakiem świata tradycyjnych wartości i przekonań, bez których nie znajdujemy pewnych racji dla tego co nazywamy przyszłością i sensem całości ludzkiego życia. Wychodząc od potrzeby poszukiwania systemu globalnych, humanistycznych zasad etycznych, wskazuję iż fundamentalną zasadą tych poszukiwań winna być godność osoby i świadomość dobra wspólnego. Są to personalistyczne kategorie ważne w pluralistycznej rzeczywistości świata spójne z chrześcijańską wizją człowieka. Wskazuję zarówno przesłanki wychowawcze jakimi należy się kierować aby wychowanie było w pełni wychowaniem personalistycznym, jak i zjawiska niezgodne z zasadami personalizmu. Nawiązuję do zasady pomocniczości, która w wychowaniu jest wolnością wyboru dobra i jego realizacji. Odwołuję się też do filozofii racjonalistycznej, która ujmuje byt ludzki w kategoriach bytu osobowego a główny przejaw ludzkiej natury wiąże z jej dążeniem do pełni, tj. do spotencjalizowania człowieka. Temu celowi także winno służyć wychowanie

Topology and models of ZFC at early Universe

Recently the cosmological evolution of the universe has been considered where 3-dimensional spatial topology undergone drastic changes. The process can explain, among others, the observed smallness of the neutrino masses and the speed of inflation. However, the entire evolution is perfectly smooth from 4-dimensional point of view. Thus the raison d’être for such topology changes is the existence of certain non-standard 4-smoothness on R4 already at very early stages of the universe. We show that the existence of such smoothness can be understood as a byproduct of the quantumness of the origins of the universe. Our analysis is based on certain formal aspects of the quantum mechanical lattice of projections of infinite dimensional Hilbert spaces where formalization reaches the level of models of axiomatic set theory.
