In the autumn of 1965, Helga M. Novak returned from Iceland to Berlin for a few months and met Robert Havemann, who had just lost his chair in 1964 due to his political speeches on freedom and communism. It was an important meeting – emotional, political as well as literary one and it left many traces in their works and in the public.

Novak kehrt im Herbst 1965 für einige Monate aus Island nach Berlin zurück und begegnet Robert Havemann, der im Laufe des Jahres 1964 aufgrund seiner politischen Reden über Freiheit und Kommunismus seinen Lehrstuhl verloren hatte. Emotional, politisch wie literarisch ist es eine wichtige Begegnung, die vielfach Spuren in den jeweiligen Werken und in der Öffentlichkeit hinterließ.
