Znacząca aktywność inwestycyjna miast zorientowana na uzupełnianie luki infrastrukturalnej w sferze transportu drogowego nie przyniosła zaspokojenia potrzeb w tym zakresie. Pomimo uzyskiwanych dofinansowań ze środków europejskich znaczny ciężar inwestycji ponosiły same miasta, a projekty zgłoszone, choć niezrealizowane w poprzedniej i obecnej perspektywie programowej są wyznacznikiem konkurencji o środki, o które w kolejnej perspektywie będą aplikowały główne miasta Polski.

The article takes the issue of the implications of the smart city concept to city logistics system. The formula of the city of the future: Smart City, modify city logistics tasks realization that’s why the considerations are taken to indicate the main areas of that change. The article ends with an attempt to reflect critically on the concept of smart city and identify various consequences of its wider implementation.

The purpose of this article was to explore the real problem of wasting local resources, which is in opposition to the principles of sustainable development, understood as avoiding waste of any resources. The article highlights the key manifestations of this problem and its implication for rural development. Some actions realised in the world are also mentioned – their implementation contributes to the prevention of this phenomenon.

W artykule wskazano główne implikacje tego problemu dla rozwoju obszarów wiejskich oraz zasygnalizowano podejmowane na świecie działania, których realizacja przyczynia się do przeciwdziałania temu zjawisku.
