O sposobie definiowania terminów gramatycznych w słownikach Knapiusza i Trotza

This paper presents the ways of defining lexical units (including grammatical terms) used to describe the Polish language system recorded in Grzegorz Knapiusz’s Thesaurus (ed. 1621, 1643, 1644) and in Nowy dykcjonarz by Michał Abraham Trotz (ed. 1764). The material analysed included units with synonymic definitions, having equivalents or extensive definitions in foreign languages only, as well as lexemes without Polish or foreign-language equivalents. The article attempts to determine to what extent the collected linguistic terms and the ways in which they are presented in both dictionaries may be relevant to diachronic studies of Polish grammatical terminology.

W artykule przedstawiono sposób definiowania jednostek leksykalnych (w tym terminów gramatycznych) służących do opisu systemu języka polskiego zarejestrowanych w Thesaurusie Grzegorza Knapiusza (wyd. 1621, 1643, 1644) oraz Nowym dykcjonarzu Michała Abrahama Trotza (wyd. 1764). W badanym materiale znalazły się jednostki opatrzone definicjami synonimicznymi, posiadające ekwiwalenty lub rozbudowane definicje wyłącznie w językach obcych oraz leksemy bez polskich czy obcojęzycznych odpowiedników. Podjęta została próba odpowiedzi na pytanie, w jakim stopniu zgromadzona leksyka językoznawcza i sposób jej przedstawienia w obu słownikach mogą być przydatne w diachronicznych badaniach nad polską terminologią gramatyczną.
