The measure taken by the Slovak Government that broadens the benefits of the active labour market policy provides additional opportunities of employment for the long-term unemployed. It increases the perspective for individuals on low-income employment by giving them wider access to the labour market and incentive for long term unemployed to become employed. The goal of the proposed changes is aimed at reducing the total number of long-term unemployed and increase the quality of the work force.
