This article addresses the issue of strengthening the defence of the country by using the potential of civilian firearms owners. The research material was obtained from the author’s own research. The results of the research unequivocally indicate the willingness of civilian firearms owners to defend the country in the event of an armed conflict on Polish territory. The article also talks about the issue of legislative negligence in the field of cooperation of trained civilian firearms owners with the Polish Armed Forces for the defence of the country.

Artykuł porusza kwestię wzmocnienia obronności państwa poprzez wykorzystanie potencjału, jakim są cywilni posiadacze broni palnej. Materiał badawczy pozyskano z badań własnych przeprowadzonych przez autora. Uzyskane wyniki badań jednoznacznie wskazują na chęć obrony kraju przez cywilnych posiadaczy broni palnej w przypadku konfliktu zbrojnego na terenie Polski. W artykule omówiono także zagadnienie związane z zaniedbaniami legislacyjnymi w zakresie współpracy wyszkolonych cywilnych posiadaczy broni palnej z SZ RP na rzecz obronności państwa.
