In the „Belorestauratsya" Chemical Laboratory in Minsk (B e lorussian SSR) the luminescent analysis was tried out as a relatively sensitive and simple method of analyzing protein compounds of paint vehicles. Studies were carried out on numerous samples taken, among others from the coloured layers of icons, wall paintings, frescoes. The obtained results confirmed the possibility of defining gluten glues by the luminescent method. Identification of other p roteins present in paint vehicles requires further study.
