В настоящей статье рассматривается проблема поиска польских эквивалентов при переводе русскоязычной специальной шахматной литературы. Внимание заострено на общей характеристике шахматной литературы в виде использования наряду с шахматной терминологией неофициальных и жаргонных определений, общеспортивной и военной фразеологии и элементов искусственной семантической системы в виде шахматной нотации, символов и диаграмм. Анализу подвергается также вариативность и синонимия в области шахматной лексики, проблема эквивалентности на уровне фразем и вопрос предметных знаний переводчика. В качестве исходного материала используется корпус текстов, содержащий 37 номеров журнала «64 – Шахматное обозрение» и 14 шахматных книг, а также примеры, почерпнутые из переводов шахматной литературы и польских СМИ.

This article deals with the problem of finding Polish equivalents in the translation of Russian-language special chess literature. The focus of the article is on the general characteristics of chess literature in the form of the use, along with chess terminology, of informal and slang definitions, general sports and military phraseology and elements of an artificial semiotic system in the form of chess notation, symbols and diagrams. The variability and synonymy in the field of chess vocabulary, the problem of equivalence at the level of phrasemes and the question of the translator's subject knowledge are also analyzed. The text corpora containing 37 issues of the „64 – Shakhmatnoe obozrenie” and 14 chess books, as well as examples drawn from translations of chess literature and Polish media, is used as the source material.

W niniejszym artykule został przedstawiony problem ustalania polskich ekwiwalentów w procesie przekładu rosyjskiej specjalistycznej literatury szachowej. Dokonano ogólnej charakterystyki specjalistycznej literatury szachowej, w której widoczne jest stosowanie terminologii specjalistycznej obok terminologii nieoficjalnej, określeń potocznych i żargonowych, frazematyki ogólnosportowej i wojskowej oraz elementów dodatkowego, sztucznego kodu semiotycznego w postaci notacji szachowej, symboli i diagramów. Poddano analizie wariantywność i synonimię leksyki szachowej, ekwiwalencję na poziomie frazemów oraz kwestię wiedzy specjalistycznej tłumacza. Materiał badawczy został zaczerpnięty z utworzonego na potrzeby danego artykułu korpusu rosyjskich tekstów o tematyce szachowej zawierającego 37 numerów czasopisma szachowego „64 – Szachmatnoje obozrienije” i 14 książek szachowych oraz z tłumaczeń rosyjskiej literatury szachowej i publikowanych w polskich mediach.

The article discusses the problem of polysemy in translation of Russian-Polish dictionary. Critical analysis was conducted on the resources included in The Great Russian-Polish Dictionary edited by “Wydawnictwo PWN”. Inaccuracies and mistakes found in dictionary entries allow us to formulate some conclusions about principles for compiling modern Russian-Polish dictionary, which meets translator’s expectations.

В настоящей статье рассматривается проблема презентации полисемии в большом русско-польском переводном словаре. В ходе анализа Большого русско-польского словаря под редакцией Яна Вавжинчика были выявлены ошибки и недочёты в построении отдель- ных статей, а также — сделаны выводы насчёт принципов составления современного рус- ско-польского словаря, соответствующего требованиям переводчика.
