The aim of the article is to present recommendations, based on previous experience, and connected with sociological urban studies investigating quality of life. The postulates are related to: the conceptualization and operationalization stage, development and standardization of a research tool, possible resources enabling research to be conducted on a cyclical basis, use of methods to ensure representative sampling, as well as involvement of the main stakeholders in a research process and informing them about the findings. The article also presents expected results and effects of research into urban quality of life.

Celem artykułu jest postawienie wyprowadzonych na podstawie zdobytych do­świadczeń badawczych postulatów dotyczących projektowania i realizacji socjologicznych studiów miejskich związanych z tematyką jakości życia. Prezentowane postulaty odnoszą się do konceptu­alizacji i operacjonalizacji problematyki badawczej, opracowania i standaryzacji narzędzia badaw­czego, zapewnienia zasobów do prowadzenia badań w sposób cykliczny, zapewnienia reprezenta­tywnych metod doboru próby, a także zaangażowania głównych interesariuszy w proces badawczy i informowania ich o wynikach. Przedstawiono także spodziewane rezultaty i efekty podejmowania badań nad jakością życia w mieście.
