In recent years, the banking sector has started to prioritize sustainable development, recognizing the growing benefits of sustainable investment. However, they e ncounter many obstacles on the road, among others, the time horizon, waiting for regulatory proposals, and a lack of understanding of the potential effects of climate change. To strengthen its sustainability policy, the ESMA decided to harmonize transparency rules that should have a significant impact on the entire banking sector. The purpose of the article is to organize basic definitions related to the sustainable development policy, to show the role of finance in the whole process, to present important changes in the regulation, and to approximate current changes in the field of sustainable development in the banking sector.
The problem of ethics is particularly important for banks, because on moral principles they base their activity, customer relations and other functional areas, such as the policy of dividend payments, the mission of the institution, responsibilities of employees, etc. The question is whether the banks cannot afford to waive of these rules for the benefit (even disposable)? Advisor is the first link and therefore he is particularly important in the context of building ethics policy and implementation of ethical values. The perception of employees affects the image of the bank and its reputation, which is why it is so essential that consumers regard them as operating in accordance with the rules of ethics. The aim of the article is to present the work of bank advisor from the perspective of ethical principles and to present the results of a pilot study about the understanding of the concept of ethics and ethical advisor as well as associations with the term bank.

Problem etyki jest szczególnie istotny dla banków – na zasadach moralnych opierają swoje działanie, relacje z klientami, a także inne obszary funkcjonowania, jak choćby politykę wypłat dywidend, misję instytucji, obowiązki pracowników itp. Powstaje zatem pytanie, czy banki mogą sobie pozwolić na odstąpienie od tych reguł dla uzyskania korzyści (chociażby jednorazowych)? Doradca, jako pierwsze ogniwo, jest szczególnie istotny w kontekście budowania polityki etycznej i wdrażania wartości etycznych. Sposób postrzegania pracowników wpływa na wizerunek banku i jego reputację, dlatego też tak niezbędne jest, aby konsumenci odbierali ich jako działających zgodnie z zasadami etyki. Celem artykułu jest prezentacja pracy doradcy bankowego z perspektywy zasad etycznych, a także przedstawienie wyników badania pilotażowego dotyczącego rozumienia pojęcia etyczny i doradca etyczny oraz skojarzeń z terminem bank.
Advising is one of the fundamental duties of employees of banks, who sell financial products and services. It plays a key role in the context of making more rational decisions by customers, and most importantly it is not always a synonymous to the sale of banking products and services. The role of the bank advisor also includes an educational component associated with raising the level of financial awareness and substantive knowledge in the field of economics and finance. These activities can contribute both to perform the tasks of each employee of the bank, as well as limit the phenomenon of financial exclusion, at the basis of which is limited access to the individual banking products and services. The purpose of this article is to present the role of bank advisor in reducing the negative consequences of financial exclusion as well as to introduce point of views of bank advisors about the advising that they provide to clients in the banking sector.
Crises which have appeared in recent years have been the major determinant of the functioning of the banking sector, but now the main task of the bank as an institution of public trust is to design activities so that banks could avoid the negative consequences of possible future turmoils. The key role play their employees, especially those working with clients, because in the face of a crisis of confidence, rebuilding the credibility and positive image can be the foundation of competitiveness of banks. The aim of the article is to analyze the condition of the banking sector from the perspective of the global financial crisis and a crisis of confidence, an overview of the activities in the field of ethics undertaken by banks after the crisis and assessment of their effectiveness on the basis of employees opinions.

Pojawiające się w ostatnich latach kryzysy stanowiły główną determinantę sposobu funkcjonowania sektora bankowego, aczkolwiek obecnie głównym zadaniem banków jako instytucji zaufania publicznego jest zaprojektowanie działań, dzięki którym możliwe będzie uniknięcie negatywnych konsekwencji potencjalnych, przyszłych zawirowań. Kluczową rolę odegrają ich pracownicy, zwłaszcza osoby współpracujące z klientami, gdyż w obliczu kryzysu zaufania odbudowa wiarygodności i pozytywnego wizerunku może stanowić fundament konkurencyjności banków. Celem artykułu jest analiza kondycji sektora bankowego z perspektywy globalnego kryzysu finansowego i kryzysu zaufania, przegląd działań z zakresu etyki przedsięwziętych przez banki w okresie po kryzysie oraz ocena ich skuteczności na podstawie opinii pracowników.
