A literary work is mainly a linguistic text whose content requires broad knowledge. Semantic effects of a literary work, resulting from a variety of operations performed on all layers of the linguistic system – phonological, morphological, lexical, syntactic and prosodic, are a kind of a challenge for a sophisticated reader. However, for a student they may be discouraging, especially when he is exposed to foreign texts. How to encourage students of foreign philology departments, in our case the students of the Romance studies, to read the texts thoroughly? How to diminish their fear of incomprehensibility, and how to introduce them into the world of the text and to provide pleasure of discovering the past and present presented worlds? To answer these questions, the students of the Romance Institute of Szczecin University are offered the participation in literary workshop projects, where the linguistic material of the literary texts is thoroughly analyzed and becomes a tool of students’ work.

Dzieło literackie jest przede wszystkim tekstem językowym, którego tworzywo wymaga wszechstronnej wiedzy. Efekty semantyczne utworu literackiego, wynikające z rozmaitych zabiegów dokonywanych na wszystkich poziomach systemu językowego: fonologicznym, morfologicznym, leksykalnym, składniowym i prozodyjnym są dla wytrawnego czytelnika zawsze pewnym wyzwaniem, natomiast dla ucznia mogą stać się powodem zniechęcenia, zwłaszcza w przypadku czytania i odbioru tekstów obcojęzycznych. Jak zachęcić studentów filologii obcych, a w naszym przypadku studentów filologii romańskiej do uważnej lektury, jak zniwelować ich lęk przed niezrozumieniem, a wreszcie wprowadzić ich w świat tekstu i obudzić prawdziwą przyjemność czerpaną z poznania dawnych i współczesnych światów przedstawionych? Na te pytania staramy się znaleźć odpowiedź, proponując studentom realizację projektu warsztatów literackich, w czasie których tworzywo językowe tekstów literackich poddane jest dokładnej analizie, ale też staje się swoistym narzędziem pracy.
