W artykule analizowano zróżnicowanie przestrzenne cen paliw według asortymentu. Do badania wykorzystano analizę wariancji i metody analizy konwergencji cen. Przeprowadzona analiza wykazała, że istnieje zróżnicowanie cen paliw w przekroju województw, ale jest ono statystycznie nieistotne. Zbadano zatem cenową integrację rynków przestrzennych w celu potwierdzenia działania prawa jednej ceny. Do badania integracji rynków wykorzystano analizę kointegracji, która w przypadku większości rynków geograficznych potwierdziła działanie jednej ceny.

The paper analyzed the spatial variation in fuel prices by product range. The study used analysis of variance and the method of analysis of price convergence. The analysis showed that there is variation in fuel prices in the cross-province but it is statistically insignificant. Therefore the spatial price integration of markets was examined in order to confirm the operation of the law of one price. The analysis of cointegration confirmed, in most geographic markets, the law of one price.

The scope of Polish macro-economic data for assessing the level of socio-economic development of the country is largely limited because of the regional variation. Therefore there is a need for cyclic selection and the verification of criteria which allow identifying regions with a similar level of socio-economic development or those that clearly differ from the mean values. The aim of the study is to compare Poland’s provinces in terms of their socio-economic development, which helps identify the most similar regions as far as the adopted criteria are concerned.
