These paper aims to be an introduction to the whole section concerning aging studies. Within a foundation “Instytut Dyskursu i Dialogu” (Institute of Discourse and Dialogue) we are interested in variety of issues and topics on aging. We would like to present some of them the journal. Paper provides some statistics covering number of pensioners in Poland as well as information on pensioners’ money they are provided by the social system. Some ideas on future discussions are also mentioned in the paper. Tey are going to be elaborated in following issues of the journal. Some general remarks on our approach and theoretical background are also included, together with an explanation of our perspective in discussion on aging. Our major consideration is to develop a dialogue between generations – older and younger one – so that everybody could proft from it.

Poniższy tekst ma ambicje, żeby stać się wprowadzeniem do całego działu poświęconego sprawom senioralnym, którymi zajmujemy się w fundacji Instytut Dyskursu i Dialogu. Chcemy dać wyraz tym zainteresowaniom na łamach naszego czasopisma. W artykule można znaleźć nieco danych statystycznych dotyczących liczby emerytów oraz wysokości świadczeń emerytalnych, kilka pomysłów na tematy do rozmów, które rozwiniemy w kolejnych tomach oraz założenia, które planowany dialog uporządkują. Krótko wyjaśniamy też, jak rozumiemy zależność między emeryturą i starością. Najważniejszym postulatem stawianym w artykule jest rozwijanie dialogu między pokoleniami – starszym i młodszym – w taki sposób, aby każdy z nas na tym skorzystał.
