The main aim of the article is to examine the human’s attitude towards the other’s death. The field of research was limited to the death testimony of a parent in Polish literature after 1989, based on Mikołaj Łoziński’s Book (2011) and Marcin Wicha’s Things, I didn’t Throw Away (2017). The analysis was focused on the way in which the biographies of the deceased can be created by memories of them in the different phases of grief, and on the creation of intergenerational connections between the orphaned subjects and the material remains corresponding to the life of the dead.

The article analyzes the pathographic narratives of Mateusz Pakuła’s Jak nie zabiłem mojego ojca i jak bardzo tego żałuję (How I Didn’t Kill My Father and How Much I Regret It, 2021) and Barbara Woźniak’s Niejedno (Many Things, 2021), considered as literary representations of tender alliances formed between the ill people and those who care for them. Key interpretative tools for analyzing this issue include Olga Tokarczuk’s Nobel Prize-winning reflections, Jolanta Brach-Czaina’s philosophical project, and Catherine Malabou’s concept of destructive plasticity.

Przedmiotem artykułu jest analiza narracji patograficznych Mateusza Pakuły Jak nie zabiłem mojego ojca i jak bardzo tego żałuję (2021) oraz Barbary Woźniak Niejedno (2021), rozpatrywanych jako literackie reprezentacje czułych sojuszy zawiązywanych pomiędzy chorymi a osobami sprawującymi nad nimi opiekę. Kluczami interpretacyjnymi do analizy tego problemu stały się m.in. noblowskie rozważania Olgi Tokarczuk, filozoficzny projekt Jolanty Brach-Czainy oraz kategoria destrukcyjnej plastyczności zaproponowana przez Catherine Malabou.
