In the article, I present Romana Pachucka (1886‒1964) ‒ a teacher and social activist. She wrote the most important events of her life in two volumes of diaries. In them, she outlined the educational reality of the Second Polish Republic. Romana Pachucka experimentally introduced the Dalton system to a Polish school, and in her pedagogical work, in addition to developing didactic skills, she tried to improve the life situation of her pupils. She was a supporter of New Upbringing, moreover, she was involved in editorial work on the school magazine in Gymnasium. She combined scientific research with physical journeys. She believed in youth and sincere passion. Pachucka was an extraordinary character. She gave her life to the Polish school and society, never starting a family.

W artykule przybliżam postać Romany Pachuckiej (1886‒1964) – nauczycielki oraz działaczki społecznej. W dwóch tomach pamiętników spisała najważniejsze wydarzenia ze swojego życia. Nakreśliła w nich rzeczywistość edukacyjną w II Rzeczpospolitej. Romana Pachucka eksperymentalnie wprowadziła system daltoński do polskiej szkoły, a w swojej pracy pedagogicznej oprócz rozwijania umiejętności dydaktycznych starała się poprawiać sytuację życiową swoich podopiecznych. Była zwolenniczką Nowego Wychowania, ponadto zajmowała się pracą redakcyjną nad czasopismem szkolnym gimnazjum żeńskiego. Poszukiwania naukowe łączyła z podróżami. Wierzyła w młodzież i szczerą pasję. Pachucka była postacią nietuzinkową. Oddała swoje życie polskiej szkole i społeczeństwu, nie zakładając nigdy rodziny.
