The article concerns an unknown history of a non-existent edition of P. Skarga’s “Żywoty świętych” by Joanna Duska and Anna Karasiowa on the basis of the edition from 1610. which was prepared for the PAX printing house. The hagiographic presentation was done by Priest Henryk Fros. PAX did not follow the agreement with the above mentioned scholars. The author of the present article is now working on the linguistic analysis of obroki duchowne (Skarga’s commentary of the lifes of the selected saints). In the course of the research the author has noticed and explained some imprecisenerss and lack of certain facts in the works on Skarga’s “Żywoty świętych” published in the 20th century. She also pays attention to the popularity of Skarga’s “Żywot świętych polskich”, which contains only 12 lifes of the saint, published by WAM (also prepared by Joanna Duska and Anna Karasiowa many years ago) and she postulates the preparation of a new scientific edition of the complete version of Skarga’s “Żywoty świętych”.

In old print from XVIth century Dryjas Zamechska by Jan Kochanowski there are two words bez and podobno situated one after another. The author of paper supposes, that it must be one word bezpodobno seting forth arguments from word formation, rhetoric, stylistic and semantic.

W tytule artykułu umieszczono dwa wyrazy z zakresu agresji werbalnej: unikatowy (w świetle zachowanych materiałów) datowany na XV wiek czasownik „hejstać” oraz cieszące się dużą popularnością współczesne „hejtować” zapożyczone z języka angielskiego. Autorki doprecyzowują ich znaczenie, docierają do ich wspólnego praindoeuropejskiego rdzenia i sytuują je pod kątem motywacji semantycznej na tle innych wyrazów z tego zakresu.

The title of the article contains two words in the field of verbal aggression: the Old Polish verb “hejstać” – unique in the light of preserved materials, dating back to the fifteenth century – and the contemporary Polish verb “hejtować” – a very popular borrowing from English. The authors clarify their meanings, refer to their etymology and identify their common origin from *hatjan. Finally, authors compare them with other words in this field, based on their semantic motivation.

Artykuł prezentuje elektroniczny „Słownik pojęciowy języka staropolskiego” (SPJS), który został opracowany w Instytucie Języka Polskiego PAN w Krakowie na podstawie „Słownika staropolskiego” i „Suplementu cz. I”. SPJS zawiera całe dotąd poznane najstarsze polskie słownictwo – od początków języka polskiego do końca XV wieku. Najważniejszym celem twórców słownika było przyporządkowanie jednostek leksykalnych do poszczególnych kategorii pojęciowych. Struktura semantyczna SPJS oparta jest na systemie hierarchicznym stworzonym przez R. Halliga i W. von Wartburga. W SPJS podano także klasyfikację gramatyczną i strukturalną wyrazów średniowiecznych. Słownik zawiera 22 735 artykułów hasłowych, a w ich obrębie 54 038 jednostek leksykalnych.

The article presents the research project of the electronic "Conceptual Dictionary of Old Polish" („Słownik pojęciowy języka staropolskiego”) prepared in the Institute of Polish Language at the Polish Academy of Sciences in Cracow. This dictionary is based on "The Old Polish Dictionary" and "The Supplement (Verba absentia), part I". "The Conceptual Dictionary of Old Polish" which includes the oldest known Polish vocabulary – from the beginning of the Polish language to the end of the fifteenth century. The main aim of this project was to assign each lexical unit to the separate conceptual categories. The semantic structure of this dictionary is based on a hierarchical system created by R. Hallig and W. von Wartburg. This dictionary also contains the grammatical and structural classification of medieval vocabulary. "The Conceptual Dictionary of Old Polish" has 22 735 entries, and within 54 038 lexical units. Each meaning and function is illustrated by one example given in transliteration and in transcription.

Przedmiotem artykułu jest nowa edycja krytyczna „Fraszek” Jana Kochanowskiego, która wkrótce ukaże się jako kolejny tom Wydania Sejmowego. Autorzy omawiają zagadnienia reprodukcji faksymilowej, transkrypcji tekstu oraz przygotowania komentarza, a także w reprezentatywnym wyborze przedstawiają szczegółowe ustalenia interpretacyjne, które znajdą się w komentarzu (analizowane przykłady pochodzą z utworów I 48, I 55, I 78, II 55, III 1, III 39, III 46, III 53, III 63 i III 69). Wartość edycji polega na tym, że suma niezliczonych drobnych odkryć o marginalnej na pozór ważności składa się na zupełnie nowy obraz całościowy, o wiele pełniejszy i bogatszy w znaczenia, niż mogą to sugerować wcześniejsze opracowania.

The paper discusses a recently completed critical edition of Jan Kochanowski’s “Fraszki” (“Trifles”), which will before long be issued as a subsequent volume of his “Dzieła wszystkie” (“Collected Works”). Different aspects of the publication are presented, including facsimile, transcription, and commentary. As a representative sample, a few actual passages from particular trifles are discussed in length. These include the following poems: I 48, I 55, I 78, II 55, III 1, III 39, III 46, III 53, III 63, and III 69. The most remarkable added value of the edition is that it contains countless minute discoveries—individually marginal—creating much broader, much richer, and much deeper picture of “Trifles” than the previous editions might suggest.
