Security constitutes an individual as well as social groups’ chief need. Therefore, it establishes both the state and international systems. Its lack causes the sense of anxiety and insecurity. Protection of life, meant as abiological existence of aman, is an obvious assumption of each and every civilized country. The state itself is astructure designed to last and develop on the basis of living society. Consequently, life protection is thus inscribed in the very essence of the state. It is only the state along with its administration that has an appropriate structure and power in order to provide security in the broadest sense. For the purpose of this study it was assumed that health safety is considered as the centrality of actions taken by the government administration including all the subordinate departments in order to protect life and health. The life protection-related laws have been analyzed and checked whether the authorities, committed to support health, fulfill their duties. The conclusions can raise citizens’ concerns about their health security.

Health undoubtedly belongs of the fundamental existential values for human. Current legal regu­lations state that everyone is entitled to health care. Health care is agovernment task, executed especially by local government units. An individual has the right to claim medical services related to the protection of life and health from the public health service. For their practical implementation, government establishes a system of entities obliged to take action in this field. Unfortunately, the actions taken do not create a unified system in which the patient and his health are the most important value.

Under the influence of political factors, the state decides which public tasks it will carry out through its organs, which will be transferable to other entities of public authority or non-public entities. Government and local government implements many public tasks. In confrontation with emerging new problems to be solved, rapidly changing social reality and growing needs of society, these administrations are not able to perform all public tasks assumed on themselves. It seems, therefore, that the optimal solution for this phenomenon is to free themselves from performing these tasks by transferring them to private entities for execution.

Emergency medicine serves providing both pre-hospital medical services directly at emergency site and during transportation, and hospital emergency services at hospital emergency wards that result from previous rescue activities. Filling in medical documents is akey element ofparamedic’s activities indifferent of employing institution; as in Poland they are kept predominantly in paper form a cyberattack risk is low in this case. Keeping correct and proper medical records plays key role in ensuring both patient’s medical safety and paramedic’s formal and legal safety, including cases of suspected medical error. It is troublesome because ofcharacteristics of paramedic’s job that include in particular multitasking, time andresponsibility pressure and resulting in stress.

In Poland in recent years more and more waste have been set on fire, thus intervening firefighters are at increased risk of suffering intoxication from fumes. Based on current literature and legal regulations review, characteristics of relevant toxic substances, associated health hazards and preventive measures were analyzed. In order to prevent negative health effects it is crucial not only to equip firefighters with adequate personal protective equipment and clothing but also to introduce obligatory monitoring their proper usage based on biologic markers of intoxication.
