The aim of the study is to present the spatial differentiation of the level of support for rural renewal and rural development from the Rural Development Program (RDP) funding in the programming periods 2007-2013 and 2014-2020. The empirical material of the article is based on data from the Central Statistical Office and the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture. Analysis of the absorption level showed a large regional differentiation. Most of the funding from the EU programs in the area of renewal and rural development is gained by regions of high economic strength - Mazovia and Wielkopolska. It is a positive phenomenon, however, that the regions of Eastern Poland, considered economically the weakest, were able to take advantage of opportunities and also obtain large financial resources to support their renewal and development. It can be said that the absorption process has contributed to reducing the differences in the level of development and restoration of rural areas in the economically disadvantaged regions of Poland (Eastern Poland). The results of the statistical analysis confirm the existence of significant dependencies between the amount of funds paid for the renewal and development of rural areas and the economic activity of the rural population.
