The review of the book is intended to highlight the main aporias raised by the French philosopher. It is based on the assumption that reading Frédéric Gros' work is a valuable source of information for anyone wishing to deepen their knowledge of both current and past social problems. The philosopher leads extraordinary research on the human individual who participates in the civic structure. The main element of the researcher's contemplation is the title disobedience, which is investigated through the prism of philosophy, science, history and even art. The author stands up for humanism and reason.

Recenzja książki ma za cel naświetlić główne aporie poruszane przez francuskiego filozofa. Wynika to z założenia, że lektura dzieła Frédérica Grosa jest wartościowym źródłem informacji dla każdego, kto chce pogłębić wiedzę na temat zarówno obecnych, jak i przeszłych problemów społecznych. Filozof  prowadzi bowiem nieprzeciętne dociekania nad jednostką ludzką partycypującą w strukturze obywatelskiej. Głównym elementem rozważań badacza, jest tytułowe nieposłuszeństwo, które to zostaje rozpatrywane przez pryzmat filozofii, nauki, historii, a nawet sztuki.  Autor występuje w obronie humanizmu oraz rozsądku.

The main axis of the article is the assumption that the intellectual’s origin and experiences strongly, though covertly, influenced his scientific activity. Consequently, the text traces the threads from Steiner’s life that resonate in his literary critic and philosophical decisions.

Oparty jest na założeniu, że pochodzenie i doświadczenia intelektualisty silnie, choć niejawnie, rzutowały na jego działalność naukową. Co za tym idzie, w tekście zostają prześledzone wątki z życia Steinera rezonujące w jego rozstrzygnięciach literaturoznawczych oraz filozoficznych.
