Transfictions et problématique du sens. Le cas d’Echenoz

Un an and Je m’en vais by Jean Echenoz, two seemingly independent novels, constitute in fact an instance of transfiction, or rather a novelistic diptych, subtly embedded in the common fictional universe by means of various textual elements such as characters, setting and diegetic analogies. Its aim is not only the unusual extension and expansion of the original fiction, based on ambiguous narration, full of understatements and contradictions, which suggests rather than tells a story in a classic way. Both texts show many extended thematic similarities, which further emphasize their structural complementarity and give it a deeper meaning. Referring to selected theories of transfiction, this article explores the way in which Echenoz plays with the conventions of serial literature and uses them to show in two versions the vicissitudes of human affairs.

Współczesne przedsiębiorstwa coraz częściej decydują się na wdrożenie outsourcingu w swojej działalności. Celem artykułu było ustalenie znaczenia outsourcingu w spółkach z sektora przemysłu i usług, notowanych na Giełdzie Papierów Wartościowych w Warszawie. Przeprowadzenie analizy umożliwiło sprawdzenie, czy spółki o odmiennym charakterze działalności w takim samym stopniu są skłonne korzystać z usług dostawców zewnętrznych. Przebadanie udziału kosztów, jakie spółki poniosły w ramach usług obcych w latach 2015-2018, umożliwiło częściową weryfikację przyjętej hipotezy. Należy zaznaczyć, iż istnieje pewne ograniczenie w interpretacji otrzymanych wyników. Nie wszystkie koszty, które wchodzą w skład usług obcych, muszą podlegać outsourcingowi. Okazało się, że istnieją istotne różnice w skłonności do powierzania części swoich zadań wykonawcy zewnętrznemu w różnych sektorach. Potwierdza to literatura oraz wynik nieparametrycznego testu U Manna-Whitneya.

Business activity is the basis of microeconomics. This leads to a continuous increase in the expectations of the environment towards contemporary enterprises. As a result, they increasingly decide to implement outsourcing in their operations. The purpose of the article is to determine the importance of outsourcing in companies from the industry and services sector, which are listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Conducting the analysis made it possible to check if companies with a different nature of activity are willing to use the services of external suppliers to the same extent. The examination of the share of costs incurred by companies in the context of external services in the years 2015-2018 enabled the partial verification of the adopted hypothesis. It should be noted that there is a certain limit to the interpretation of the results obtained. Not all costs that are part of external services need to be outsourced. It has turned out that there are significant differences in the tendency to entrust part of their tasks to an external contractor among various industries. This is confirmed by the literature and the result of non-parametric U Mann-Whitney test.

Nonsense and sense in the digressive writing of Éric Chevillard. The case of Palafox The novels of Éric Chevillard oscillate between logic and absurdity, due to not only the subject matter but also the rejection of novelistic conventions, which are replaced with a variety of unusual narrative strategies, digressive narration being the most important of them. Frequently used as a narrative mechanism distorting the eventfulness of the text, in his early writing it functions rather as a technique whose aim is to structure the plot in an unusual manner and to highlight its thematic concerns as well as transforming the reader’s traditional reception of a literary text. The present paper discusses these textual functions of digression on the example of Palafax, the novel in which atypical narration tallies with the story being told.

Impact of outsourcing on the productivity of Polish industrial enterprises

The ever-growing competitive requirements lead companies to introduce new solutions in their business. As a result, industrial companies are increasingly deciding to implement outsourcing. The aim of the article was to examine the impact of outsourcing on increasing the productivity of companies. The survey involved 170 industrial enterprises that are listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The survey covers the period 2010–2018. Conducting the survey makes it possible to state that outsourcing has improved the productivity of Polish industrial companies. Using statistical tests, results were obtained that show that industrial companies are increasingly using solutions provided by external suppliers. The use of outsourcing in enterprises improves both their productivity and has a positive impact on the entire national economy. Outsourcing was measured on the basis of the number of external services, and productivity as an indicator of economic value added (EVA). It should be noted that there is some limitation in the interpretation of the results obtained. External services also include services that are not always outsourced, e.g. banking services. The study contains new information for Poland. It enables scientists to carry out more detailed outsourcing analyses.

Wciąż rosnące wymagania konkurencyjne skłaniają firmy do wprowadzania nowych rozwiązań w swojej działalności. W rezultacie firmy przemysłowe coraz częściej decydują się na wdrożenie outsourcingu. Celem artykułu było zbadanie wpływu wykorzystania outsourcingu na wzrost produktywności firm. W badaniu wzięło udział 170 przedsiębiorstw przemysłowych, które są notowane na Giełdzie Papierów Wartościowych w Warszawie. Badanie obejmuje okres 2010–2018. Przeprowadzenie badania umożliwia stwierdzenie, że outsourcing poprawił produktywność polskich firm przemysłowych. Dzięki testom statystycznym uzyskano wyniki, które pokazują, że firmy przemysłowe coraz częściej korzystają z rozwiązań dostarczanych przez zewnętrznych dostawców. Zastosowanie outsourcingu w przedsiębiorstwach poprawia ich produktywność, jak również wpływa pozytywnie na całą gospodarkę narodową. Outsourcing zmierzono na podstawie ilości usług obcych, a produktywność wskaźnikiem ekonomicznej wartości dodanej (EVA). Należy zaznaczyć, że istnieje pewne ograniczenie w interpretacji otrzymanych wyników. Usługi obce składają się również z usług, które nie zawsze są zlecane na zewnątrz, na przykład usługi bankowe. Opracowanie zawiera nowe informacje dla Polski. Umożliwia naukowcom przeprowadzanie bardziej szczegółowych analiz outsourcingowych.
