Celem badań zaprezentowanych w artykule jest znalezienie sensu tworzenia i przekształcania instytucji obsługi turystycznej. Zjednoczona Europa wymaga pilnego rozwiązania konfliktów na osi globalizacja – lokalizacja. Obyczaje, tradycje i literackie wzory dotyczące gościnności muszą być obecnie ujmowane w kontekście interdyscyplinarnym z punktu widzenia antropologii, filozofii, semiotyki, socjologii, etnografii, historii, literaturoznawstwa, a także ekonomii, politologii, polityki i prawa. Praktyka gościnności, tj. przyjmowania obcych ludzi na danym obszarze staje się w XXI wieku jedną z decydujących kategorii pokojowej cywilizacji.

The crisis phenomena in the process of creating the Single Europe, the complex of culturological problems of the modern society, the most acute of which are on the axis “globalization – localization”, have actualized the interest to the theory and practice of hospitality, which is turning into one of the key categories of the world civilization. Laws, customs, traditions and literature images of hospitality are studied in the crossdisciplinary context, from the anthropological, philosophical, semiotic, sociological, ethnographic, historical points of view, as well as from the standpoint of economy, applied politics, ideology and law. The study is aimed at searching the logic of forming and transforming the hospitality institution as the process of evolution from the moral and religious institution to sociolegal one on the basis of the analysis of the ancient history, including the history of the North Prichernomor’ya.
