Modern sports training system is characterized by progressive principles, a wide range of interrelated tasks, evidence-based selection tools and techniques, promising years of planning, control high organization, providing hygienic conditions. Physical training rightfully occupies a leading place in the training of qualified athletes. One of the factors that contribute to the effectiveness of the training process is the control of physical fitness of athletes. Physical training plays a major role in shaping motor skills of hockey players and a low level of physical fitness limits their ability to effectively mastering the technical and tactical arsenal. In the modern theory and practice a hockey problem of physical training is underdeveloped, as evidenced by the lack of scientifically based recommendations on the design and process control of physical training, the dynamics of the physical properties at different stages of the annual training cycle and the appropriate use of special tools and techniques. Until recently developing and improving training of qualified athletes has been associated mainly with an increase in the volume of training and competitive pressures, increasing their intensity. In recent years a centralized preparation tendency to decline such loads is dominated. This fact requires further study of theoretical and methodological foundations of sports training in order to intensify the training process and the search for new sustainable integrated tools and methods of preparation. The results of the study of physical fitness of highly-qualified hockey players in different periods of the annual training cycle using a variety of educational tests to determine the physical state at the appropriate stage of preparation and correction of training process are shown in the article. The study has revealed the dynamics of functional and physical fitness of highly-qualified hockey players during annual training cycle, allowing you to identify problematic stages of planning tools and methods of physical training. This pedagogical control according to the level of physical fitness reveals a number of problems that require not only the theoretical analysis and experimental verification. The analysis of the problems of physical training of qualified athletes has shown that physical fitness is an important link in the overall structure of training and significant impact on the training side and primarily on competitive activity, enhancing or limiting its effectiveness.

The article determines the effectiveness of the system of physical preparedness assessment of highly skilled athletes in field hockey, during the annual training cycle. In the proposed system of assessment the methodology of proportional scales was used. The indicators according to the established methodology were determined using translation of results of moving skills of hockey players in points. In the result of research the relationship between the indicators of physical preparedness of hockey-players and their playing roles was defined. Positive impact of the introduction of the grading scale in points according to the results of the tests for the control of physical preparedness of qualified hockey players in different periods of the macrocycle of training is proved. The problem of improving the level of physical preparedness always occurs in practice of training of highly qualified hockey players to responsible competition. The training process should be based on the principles of management theory. Therefore there is a need to develop and use methods of a systemic approach to the study of changes in athletes organism aimed at rational modeling of its state in terms of the training process, approximate in the intensity and load to the extreme conditions of competitions. Physical training of hockey players in general is aimed at achieving the following main pedagogical objectives: the higher level of development and expansion of the functional possibilities of the body; improvement of physical qualities, as well as the development connected complexes of physical skills, that ensure the effectiveness of playing. Analysis of test data and the results of assessment suggest that the level of development of basic movement skills of defenders in field hockey had heterogeneous dynamics: some tests showed gradual improvement in the mean scores from the general preparation stage to the first competitive stage (running at 30 m) or rehabilitation-preparation stage (long jump, shuttle run 180 m) with a gradual lowering of the results to the end of the second competition period; overall endurance results in running at 2000 m increased only during the preparation stage, further their dynamics had descending character.

The article presents the results of the study of the structure of physical training of highly qualified female hockey players in annual macrocycle aimed at defining the effective patterns of physical training of highly qualified female hockey players in tandem annual training cycle according to the theory of periodization. The results of the study revealed an acceptable structure of physical training of highly qualified female hockey players during the annual training cycle that allows defining the problem of planning orientation, means andmethods of physical training in the structural formations of the macrocycle. In the structure of the physical training of the athlete the researchers allocate special, auxiliary and general training. Therefore, one of the most important issues of effective management of the training process, ways to improve special training of the athletes is the search for rational forms of planning training loads in the structures of annual and long-term training in any sport. Technology of planning of the training process at different stages of the annual and long-term sports training has become the subject of numerous studies of the specialists from different sports. In the field hockey the two-cycle planning of annual training cycle is used. In accordance with the laws of the development of sports form, training cycle in the field hockey is divided into the following periods: preparatory, first competition, health-preparatory, second competition and transition. These periods differ in tasks, ratios, types of training volume and intensity of training effects that are applied. The boundaries between the periods have a conditional character. One period in its content gradually changes into another, due to the need for gradual changes in training load. General and special physical training are two components of the same phenomenon. They should be considered in indissoluble unity, which is implemented in practice. Naturally, the technique of physical training is based on unity with other elements of training and, above all, technical, tactical and psychological training. The study does not reveal all the aspects of the identified problems, but may still be a step to further work in defining the ways of optimization of physical training of highly qualified athletes in field hockey.

In the article the analysis and results of observations on managerial influences of women’s teams’ coaches, who took part in the Championship of Ukraine among the teams of major League are presented. As a result of observations, it can be concluded that management of the team in the process of direct training and participation in competitions is the most complex and responsible stage in the work of the coach. Primarily, this is due to the fact that the result achieved in the competition, is the measure that accurately reflects the effectiveness of team training and qualifications of the coach. By controlling the game, the coach must consider many factors and make timely adjustments to his team. Effective team management during the match is the most difficult and important function of the coach. In fact, on the administrative actions of the coach during the game depends largely its result. Controlling the play of the team, the coach should consider the following: constantly during the match to keep an eye on all players on the team, rather than focusing on the monitoring of the movement of the ball; observe his players and the opposing team, because then you can predict the opponent’s intention and make adequate managerial influence. The result of the individual match and the participation in the championship of Ukraine undoubtedly depends on the coaching influences during all 70 minutes of the game and at halftime, despite the fact that every coach of the major League is an extraordinary personality with its own character and temperament. The most successful are the specialists who have deep knowledge of the theory of athletes training, sports psychology, sports pedagogy and have the ability to translate their knowledge and skills in the competition process. Monitoring of management activity of coaches women’s hockey teams during the competition revealed a number of problems in relation to the effectiveness of their work and which require further research and analysis
