W niniejszym artykule poddano analizie językowej imiona chrzestne wyekscerpowane z księgi chrztów unickiej parafii Hodyszewo z lat 1759–1801. Zgromadzona baza materiałowa została podzielona na cztery grupy, zawierające imiona, które posłużyły do nominacji: chłopów unickich, chłopów katolickich, szlachty oraz pozostałej ludności (mieszczan, duchownych i osób bez określonej przynależności społecznej). Celem badań było ustalenie stopnia popularności poszczególnych imion oraz odnotowanie ich postaci formalnych, zarówno w całościowym materiale, jak i w poszczególnych grupach etnicznych i konfesyjno-wyznaniowych. W opracowaniu zwrócono również uwagę na występowanie w badanym materiale źródłowym zjawiska polionimii.

The article analyzes from a linguistic point of view the baptismal names excerpted from the register of baptisms in the Uniate Parish of Hodyszewo from 1759–1801. For this purpose, the collected onomastic data were divided into four groups, containing names that were used to nominate: Uniate peasants, Catholic peasants, nobility and the remaining population (townsmen, clergy and people without a specific social affiliation). The aim of the analysis was to determine the popularity of particular names and to identify variations of names overall and in each of these ethnic and religious groups. The purpose of research was also to determine the occurrence of polyonymy in the studied source material.

W niniejszym artykule omówiono problem recepcji procesu kształtowania się i ewolucji nazwisk z perspektywy użytkowników forów genealogicznych. Przedmiotem analizy są posty wyekscerpowane z dwóch forów genealogicznych: genealodzy.pl i forgen.pl, które zdaniem autora stanowią reprezentatywny głos środowiska polskich genealogów amatorów. Autor próbuje ustalić, jaki jest stan wiedzy genealogów amatorów w zakresie przeobrażeń antroponimów historycznych oraz odpowiedzieć na pytanie, czy są oni świadomi dynamiki tego procesu.

In this article the author discusses the problem of formation of surnames and their evolution from the perspective of the Internet genealogy forums users. The subject of investigation was an analysis of the messages in two genealogy forums: genealodzy.pl and forgen.pl, which, according to the author, represent the collective voice of Polish amateur genealogists. The author attempts to explain whether the genealogists are conscious of the historical-anthroponomastic processes occurring in the past and if they can identify their causes. The object of the research is also the emotional reaction of genealogists to the evolution of their own surnames and the family names of their relatives.

The purpose of this paper is to examine of the mill names and mill village names in the Bransk region of the Podlachia province from 16th to the 21th century. It was discovered that the amount of the mills in this territory has decreased over several centuries. A few mills disappeared, some of the other changed their names. The study area is dominated by toponyms related to personal names. These village names are created from the forenames, nicknames and surnames of millers. There are a good number of toponyms of West and East Slavic origin in the area, while Baltic origin are few.
