The article is devoted to special educational needs and difficulties of Asperger syndrome (AS) students. Asperger syndrome is more and more often diagnosed in Poland. As a consequence, the number of such students in Polish schools is growing. However, the problem is that teachers are not taught how to work and deal with Asperger syndrome and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) students. The aim of the article is to shortly characterise ASD and AS, show the areas of ASD and AS students’ difficulties and give some simple hints of how to behave, what to do and what to avoid in the classroom where these students are present.

Dzięki zastosowaniu okulografu w badaniach glottodydaktycznych możliwe jest śledzenie ruchu gałek ocznych. W trakcie analizy danych z badań okulograficznych zwróciłam uwagę na dwie uczennice, które ze względu na różny poziom sprawności komunikacyjnej w języku angielskim powinny pracować z materiałem podręcznikowym w odmienny sposób. Celem artykułu jest pokazanie teoretycznie niewidocznych różnic w sposobie pracy z materiałem podręcznikowym tych dwóch uczennic.

Eye tracker makes it possible to see where and how the person is looking. During the analysis of previously collected eye-tracking data my attention was drawn to two school students whose English language communicative skills were on different levels and that is why I assumed they should work with the English textbook material in a different way. The aim of the article is to show not noticed at the first sight differences in their way of working with the English textbook material.

Coraz większa dostępność zaawansowanych narzędzi badawczych pozwala na prowadzenie badań wspieranych aparaturowo także w dyscyplinach, które nie wykorzystywały takich narzędzi (np. glottodydaktyka). Obecnie również one mogą sięgać po narzędzia bardzo zaawansowane, jak np. okulograf. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie okulografii jako metody badawczej w glottodydaktyce i przedstawienie pojęcia eksperymentalna glottodydaktyka okulograficzna dla tego rodzaju badań glottodydaktycznych.

A growing access to advanced research tools makes it possible to conduct equipment-based research also in the scientific areas that have not used it yet (for example, glottodidactics). Nowadays even there the most advanced equipment, as an eyetracker, can be used. The aim of the article is to shortly describe eyetracking as a research method in glottodidactics and to present the experimental eyetracking glottodidatics name for that type of glottodidactic research.

Praca uczniów z i bez dysleksji z materiałem podręcznikowym do nauki języka angielskiego – okulograficzne studium porównawcze Artykuł przedstawia wyniki drugiej części badania okulograficznego, przeprowadzonego na polskich uczniach szkoły średniej, pracujących z podręcznikiem do nauki języka angielskiego. 20 uczniów z i 20 bez dysleksji pracowało z dwoma zestawami, które różniły się pod względem graficznym, ale były identyczne z punktu widzenia treści. Ruchy gałek ocznych uczniów były rejestrowane. Zebrane dane pokazują, że rozkład materiału oraz zastosowany na stronie podręcznika układ graficzny wpływają na sposób pracy z nim oraz uzyskane rezultaty (szczególnie u uczniów z dysleksją).

The article presents the results of the second part of an eye-tracking study conducted on Polish secondary school students working with a textbook for learning English. 20 dyslexic and 20 non-dyslexic school students worked with two sets of materials that had different graphic layouts but the same content. Their eye movements were recorded. The analysed data show that the arrangement of the material and images on the textbook page influence both the way the students (especially dyslexic ones) work with the book and their results.
