The subject of Lublin’s garrison during the Four-Years Sejm has never been described in detail in Polish historiography. Hence, the author of this article decided to examine the personnel composition of the garrison’s units. The paper covers various topics, which include problems associated with the feeding and housing of the troops, as well as issues related to military equipment, training, drill and exercise locations. Furthermore, issues regarding uniforms are discussed, an example being the availability (and access to) shoes and coats. By investigating the above research problems, the article is able to portray the military activities of the Civil-Military Commission in Lublin and how its garrison functioned during the reforms of the Four-Year Sejm.

Тема Люблинского гарнизона во время Четырехлетнего сейма не была подробно описана в польской историографии. Поэтому автор решил изучить личный состав гарнизонных частей. Существенны были также проблемы с питанием и проживанием солдат. Кроме этого, в теме есть интересные вопросы, связанные с военными учениями, местами прохождения учений и экипировкой солдат. Наконец, стоит также задать вопрос об униформе солдат и доступе, например, к обуви или плащам. Ответ на поставленные вопросы исследования позволит понять функционирование гарнизона и представить себе военную деятельность Военно-гражданской комиссии в Люблине в период реформ Четырехлетнего сейма.

Temat garnizonu Lublina w okresie Sejmu Czteroletniego nie doczekał się szczegółowego opisu w historiografii polskiej. Stad autor postanowił przebadać skład osobowy jednostek wchodzących w skład garnizonu. Istotne są także problemy wyżywienia i kwaterunku żołnierzy. Interesujące są również zagadnienia związane ze szkoleniem i musztrą wojskowych, miejscami odbywania ćwiczeń i wyposażeniem żołnierzy. Na koniec warto jest zadać pytanie o umundurowanie żołnierzy oraz dostęp na przykład do butów czy płaszczy. Odpowiedz na powyższe pytania badawcze pozwoli przedstawić funkcjonowanie garnizonu i wojskowe działania Komisji Cywilno-Wojskowej w Lublinie w okresie reform Sejmu Czteroletniego.

The topic of the article is the issue of military assistance provided in the course of executions of court judgments. Due to the fact that the Sejm was the legislative body of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the paper discusses the course of parliamentary debates concerning this issue during the reign of Stanisław II August Poniatowski. The article presents the enacted parliamentary constitutions, royal projects, and analyzes thedeputies’ speeches. Moreover, it delineates the process of changes in the Enlightenment, which resulted in bringing order to the issue of sending soldiers on the so-called “tradition.”

Tematem artykułu jest problem pomocy wojskowej udzielanej w trakcie egzekucji wyroków sądowych. Z racji tego, że organem prawodawczym w Rzeczpospolitej był Sejm, autor omówił  przebieg debat sejmowych dotyczących tego problemu w latach panowania Stanisława Augusta. Przedstawił uchwalone konstytucje sejmowe, projekty królewskie oraz przeanalizował wystąpienia posłów. Omówił proces oświeceniowych zmian, które doprowadziły do uporządkowania problemu wysyłania żołnierzy na tzw. tradycję.

The purpose of this paper is to present and to familiarize the history of the Shrine of Our Lady of Gidle. Until now, it did not live his monograph. This work is a contribution to the full monograph. The author relied on the Dominican Archives in Krakow, available sources and literature. It discusses the history of the sanctuary to 1914. Particular attention is paid to build the temple. Discusses the stages of its construction. In the text the author draws attention also to the cult of the Mother of God in Gidle. It is characterized by problems that came pilgrims. Together form a picture of the sanctuary in the period from the sixteenth to the twentieth century.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie i przybliżenie historii Sanktuarium Matki Bożej w Gidlach. Temat ten nie doczekał się jak do tej pory swojego opracowania. Artykuł może stać się przyczynkiem do napisania pełnej monografii. Autor oparł swoje badania na materiałach zgromadzonych w Archiwum Dominikanów w Krakowie. Wykorzystał także dostępną literaturę przedmiotu. W swojej pracy omówił dzieje klasztoru do 1914 r. Szczególna uwaga skierowana została na kwestię budowy świątyni, gdzie umieszczono cudowną figurkę Matki Bożej. W artykule poruszone zostały także kwestie związane z rozwijającym się ruchem pątniczym. Elementy te złożyły się na historiograficzną wizję dziejów sanktuarium od XVI do XXwieku.

The text concerns the legal regulations on the maintenance of physical condition by soldiers in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the second half of the 18th century, which until now in historiography were on the margins of interest of military historians. Meanwhile, the issues of feeding, foraging horses, housing quarters of soldiers, the availability of stables for animals or problems related to maintaining health affecting the maintenance of health and good physical condition seem extremely important in the research on the Crown Army of King Stanisław August. The article refers to the provisions contained in two regulations. In 1775, regulations of camp and garrison service for cavalry regiments were issued by hetman Franciszek Ksawery Branicki. Among other things, it specifies how the army should leave the camp, how the march should proceed, and how the newly founded camp should look. The issue of foraging was regulated and attention was paid to the proper behavior of soldiers in the quarters. Instructions were also issued regarding the establishment and maintenance of feldspar and field hospital. Second regulations, camp and garrison services issued for the whole army, sent out. He discussed in detail the issues related to camp service and everyday life in the garrison. The guidelines of both regulations were compiled in the text with source material from individual units of the Crown Army. This allows you to answer the question whether the regulations were followed by soldiers.
