In the article I present the figure of philosopher and speaker Ralph W. Emerson from the perspective of the tradition of Platonic and Neoplatonic philosophy. I focus on the issues of a work of art and ethics (moral philosophy), and I emphasize the value of Emerson's philosophy for the contemporary philosophy of freedom and libertarianism.
In this article I analyze the philosophical relationship between traditional philosophy of ema-nation and the modern theories of creation of the world, particularly the theory of the Big Bang. I undertake a preliminary reflection on the terms of renewal emanationism today.
Looking at Rembrandt’s self-portraits we follow the course of his artistic development, which clearly reflects three significant stages of the artist’s life. But can these stages be applied to the life of any man? We ask this question because of the main problem discussed in this article – the problem of the essence, which Rembrandt fulfilled in his work. In general, the topics, Rembrandt undertakes, concern the ethos, and similarly in his self-portraits we encounter the ethos of an adolescent, mature and elderly man.
