Przedmiotem artykułu jest prześledzenie tematu starości w późnej twórczości Julii Hartwig. Punktem wyjścia jest odwołanie do prac badawczych podejmujących temat starości, topos Starego Poety oraz postać Starej Poetki. Celem artykułu jest szukanie odpowiedzi na następujące pytania: czy zapiski z Dziennika potwierdzają obserwacje dotyczące liryki jego autorki? Czy może pokazują inne oblicze poetki? Czy w dzienniku pojawia się ta osobista perspektywa, na której nieobecność w liryce wskazują badaczki? Wreszcie, jak obraz starości w dziennikach Julii Hartwig wygląda na tle innych polskich diarystek?

The subject of this article is to trace the theme of old age in the late works of Julia Hartwig. The starting point is the reference to the research work taking about old age, the topos of the Old Poet and the figure of the Old Poetess. The purpose of this article is to look for answers to the following questions: is the diary similar to the poems by Julia Hartwig? Can it show the other face of the Julia Hartwig? Does the diary reveal a personal perspective, claimed by many scholars to be absent in her poetry? Finally, how does the image of old age in the diary of Julia Hartwig look in comparison toother Polish women’ diaries?

The article presents findings contained in the work by Arkadiusz Morawiec entitled Literatura polska wobec ludobójstwa. Rekonesans [Polish literature faced with genocide. Reconnaissance]. The scholar from Łódź calls into question the hitherto established hierarchy of genocides. Extensive comparative research into literary representations of particular wartime massacres is what constitutes the thematic pivot of the said treatise, which joins in the discussion scope outlined by genocide studies. Subsequent chapters of the presented book are devoted to literary reverberations of the Armenian Genocide perpetrated by Turks, the Nazi-Germany extermination of persons with physical and mental retardation as well as Sinti and Roma, the Srebrenica massacres carried out by Serbs. The remaining chapters deal with the Holocaust literature and, according to the author’s intentions, an attempt to enrich the state of research, and sometimes – to amend some of their findings.

The article below is an overview and discussion of Anita Jarzyna Post-koiné’s monograph. Studies on non-anthropocentric (poetic) languages, which is one of the key treatises examining human-animal relationships on the material of Polish poetry of the 20th and 21st centuries. Jarzyna’s book is not only an example of skilful application of methodologies from the border of posthumanism and animal studies. It is an original and innovative proposition of a non-anthropocentric reading of literature. It is also an important voice in the debate on building an ecological order and the place and role of animals in human life.

Artykuł stanowi przegląd i omówienie monografii Anity Jarzyny Post-koiné. Studia o nieantropocentrycznych językach (poetyckich), która jest jedną z kluczowych rozpraw badających związki ludzko-zwierzęce na materiale poezji polskiej XX i XXI wieku. Książka Jarzyny jest nie tylko przykładem zręcznego aplikowania metodologii z pogranicza posthumanizmu i animal studies. Stanowi oryginalną i nowatorską propozycję nieantropocentrycznego czytania literatury, jest także ważnym głosem w debacie o budowaniu ładu ekologicznego i miejscu oraz roli zwierząt w życiu człowieka.

Kobiety i twórczość muzyczna w prozie autobiograficznej

The essay deals with the problem of the presence of women in music. In the history of the culture, art above all, women have traditionally constituted the object of artistic crea-tion, not the creator. Particularly valuable material for research may prove female auto-biographical writing. The selected works of Polish authors are analyzed through the categories of gender discourses. The paper is an attempt to show cultural changes asso-ciated with the feminine approach to musical creation. In the nineteenth century, we can talk about the formation of a kind of salon women's subculture. The turn of the modern-ist and the First World War mean the cultural advancement of women. We can talk about the expansion of women in the culture, and thus in the music. In analyzed memo-ries appear women practicing music only in the private sphere: the home or giving les-sons, even if some of them the ability to play an instrument is a passion. The autobio-graphical prose seem to confirm that women were determined to develop his artistic passion had to choose between art and family.

Przedmiotem artykułu jest praca Bożeny Karwowskiej Druga płeć na wygnaniu. Doświadczenie migracyjne w opowieści powojennych pisarek polskich, która powstała jako rezultat dłuższych studiów nad różnymi odmianami i dziełami kobiecego pisarstwa emigracyjnego i stanowi udaną próbę usystematyzowania problematyki wygnania w twórczości kobiet. Wskazano, że punktem wyjścia dla omówienia przez badaczkę doświadczenia migracyjnego w twórczości powojennych pisarek polskich jest teza o wyraźnych różnicach między wygnańczymi opowieściami kobiet i mężczyzn. Zauważono ponadto, że książka Bożeny Karwowskiej jest naznaczona silnym rysem indywidualnym, została bowiem napisana z perspektywy emigrantki. Wypełnia ważną lukę w badaniach nad literaturą emigracyjną, wskazuje na nowe perspektywy jej odczytań, korzysta z najnowszych osiągnięć badawczych feminizmu i studiów postkolonialnych.

The subject of the article is work by Bożena Karwowska The Second Sex in Exile. Experience the Story of Migration in the Postwar Polish Writers, established as a result of long study of the different variations and works of women’s writing in exile and is a successful attempt to systematize the problems of exile in the work of women. The article indicated that the starting point for discussion by the researcher of the migration experience in the work of postwar Polish writers is the thesis with clear differences between exile stories of men and women. The article noted that the book by Bożena Karwowska is marked by a strong feature of the individual, for it is written from the perspective of an immigrant. The work fills an important gap in the research literature of exile, points to new perspectives of its reading, using the latest research achievements of feminism and postcolonial studies.
