Reality shows that human capital is accelerator of innovation activity. In this conditions companies should search ways of effective motivation. In article author presents the role of innovations in elements of human capital and results of own research in area of sources of innovation activity. After analyze of results author suggested using support of EU and Slovakia on financing of innovation projects. Innovation project can be used as a one of ways financial motivations in company.

Opracowanie porusza zagadnienia innowacji w ujęciu kapitału intelektualnego. Na podstawie badań własnych, odnoszących się do przedsiębiorstw słowackich, autorka analizuje poszczególne bariery rozwoju działalności innowacyjnej. W dalszej części artykułu na podstawie dokonanej analizy dokonuje aplikacji diagramu Ishikawy na przyczyny nierealizowania innowacji przez pryzmat poszczególnych elementów kapitału intelektualnego.

Article contains main place of innovation in human capital. On the basis of own research which were conducted in Slovakia, author is analyzing individual barriers of innovation activity. After analyze author applicants Ishikava chart on reasons no realizing of innovations in contexts of individual elements of intellectual capital.

In this article are presented barriers of innovation activity in the area of Eastern Slovakia. The main barriers are identified as lack of financial resources and high risk of failure individual innovation. On the basis of this results authors present some solutions as cluster initiatives or application of lean management and quality improvement tools, which may help companies with reduce of mentioned barriers.
