“The reflections of Johann Gottfried Herder about philosophy of history - selected issues” is a synopsis of Herder’s philosophy of history. It is also an analysis and critique of this thought. The main notions of Herder’s thought such as the idea of progress and the idea of humanity have been analysed and criticised. This article shows the connections between Herder’s philosophy and the philosophies of other thinkers especially Hegel’s thought. The feature is also an attempt to critique the most important ideas of the philosophy of history.
