This article deals with a short Old Czech treatise on perjury which is written in a manuscript dating from the first half of the 15th century (Prague Castle Archive, Metropolitan Chapter Library by St. Vitus, Number H 10, fol. 270v). It is the unique coherent Czech text contained in this codex which according to its writing originated between the years 1416-1450. The analysis shows that it is a translation of a chapter of the second part of the Decretum Gratiani (causa XXII, questio V, capitulum V) not found elsewhere. The Old Czech text is compared with the Latin wording and with a passage of identic contents in the Czech work by M. Jan Hus called Výklad delší na desatero přikázanie. The executed analysis shows that some details in the Staročeský slovník and in the critical edition of the work by Hus need to be revised.

The article outlines the historical background of the Latin personal name Adauctus and its Czech equivalents Sbožný, Přibík and Přibyslav. The name Adauctus (or Adaukt) is not used in Czech; the only known exception is represented by the name of the 18th century scientist Mikuláš Adaukt Voigt.

The article deals with the different approaches of the Old-Czech Bible translators and the lexicographer Bartholomeus de Solencia dictus Claretus to the geographical name Syrtis, known from the New Testament (Actus 27, 17). Their approaches to the given toponym had been influenced by their knowledge of its medieval etymological interpretations.

The aim of the article is to report on the card catalogue from the estate of the bibliographer and lexicographer Zdeněk Tyl (1913–2008), which contains material for the identification of the sources of, and the abbreviations found in, Josef Jungmann’s Czech-German Dictionary. The nature of Tyl’s excerpts and the possibilities of using them to identify and pinpoint the sources of Jungmann’s dictionary are illustrated with the example of abbreviations of sources starting with M-.
