W artykule dokonano analizy polityki bezpieczeństwa energetycznego Unii Europejskiej w zakresie gazu ziemnego. Przedstawiono najważniejsze akty prawne regulujące funkcjonowanie unijnego sektora gazu, a następnie przeanalizowano dokumenty niewiążące tj. strategie i plany działań wydawane głównie przez Komisję Europejską, odnoszące się do przyszłych kierunków działań w sektorze gazu. Następnie opisano projekty mających szczególne znaczenie dla bezpieczeństwa energetycznego UE, w tym 3 priorytetowe korytarze gazowe: Korytarz Południowy, Korytarz Północ - Południe w Europie Wschodniej, oraz plan działań w zakresie połączeń międzysystemowych na rynku energii państw bałtyckich (BEMIP), a także korytarz: Korytarz Północ – Południe w Europie Zachodniej. Przy każdym z wymienionych projektów wskazano udział Unii Europejskiej w ich realizacji. Pozytywną ocenę polityki bezpieczeństwa energetycznego Unii Europejskiej osłabia dyskutowany obecnie projekt budowy gazociągu Nord Stream II.

The article analyzes the European Union's energy security policy in the field of natural gas. The most important legal acts regulating the functioning of the EU gas sector were presented, and then non-binding documents were analyzed, i.e. strategies and action plans issued mainly by the European Commission, referring to future directions of activities in the gas sector. Next, the projects of particular importance for the EU energy security have been described, including three priority gas corridors: the Southern Corridor, the North-South Corridor in Eastern Europe, and the interconnection plan on the Baltic energy market (BEMIP), as well as the Corridor North - South in Western Europe. Each of the mentioned projects indicates the participation of the European Union in their implementation. Positive evaluation of the energy security policy of the European Union is weakened by the project of construction of the Nord Stream II gas pipeline currently under discussion.
