The article discusses the popular science style in magazines addressed to younger schoolchildren. The analysed texts have been published in the “Kumpel” magazine and are devoted to the subject of nature. Their distinguishing feature is the pursuit of intersemiotic and non-linear method of encoding information. The spatial configuration of information allowsto perceive the meanings conveyed by means of verbal, illustrational, and typographical code in any order. In the article, I am looking for answers to the following questions: what means are used by the writers of popular science texts targeted at children, how to analyse the perceived measures, and the identified method of constructing popular science texts affects the modification of learningliteracy by the model recipient.

Artykuł dotyczy stylu popularnonaukowego w czasopismach adresowanych do odbiorcy dziecięcego w wieku wczesnoszkolnym. Analizowane teksty pochodzą z czasopisma „Kumpel” i dotyczą tematyki przyrodniczej. Ich wyróżnikiem jest dążenie do intersemiotycznego oraz nielinearnego sposobu kodowania informacji. Przestrzenne ukształtowanie informacji umożliwia dowolną kolejność percypowania znaczeń przekazanych za pomocą kodu werbalnego, ilustracyjnego i typograficznego. W artykule poszukuję odpowiedzi na następujące kwestie: jakimi środkami posługują się autorzy tekstów popularnonaukowych skierowanych do odbiorcy dziecięcego, w jaki sposób dostrzegane środki analizować, a także – jak zidentyfikowany sposób tworzenia tekstów popularnonaukowych wpływa na modyfikację kształcenia umiejętności czytania przez modelowego odbiorcę.
