During COVID-19 pandemic, a decreased social contact is recommended as a basic principle for prevention of disease. Nevertheless, there are many activities that requires going out from home. Seeking food is a basic necessary activity. To support staying at home concept, food delivery service is widely used in many countries during COVID-19 pandemic. It is believed that having food delivery rider to buy and send food directly to home can decreased risk from social contact.

The epidemic is a challenge to the justice. The court proceedings' conducting must take into account the principles of epidemiological safety. However, this must not lead to a violation of the rights of parties to court proceedings. Instruments enabling safe conduct of court cases are contained in the Code of Civil Procedure and in the Act of 2 March 2020. The aim of the article is to systematize and discuss the key regulations and institutions that allow for ensuring the proper administration of justice in the current difficult period with the use of the above-mentioned provisions. These solutions are not perfect, they need to be refined and adapted to the current needs and problems arising in the course of court proceedings. They require appropriate technical facilities both on the part of the courts and the parties, as well as skills and willingness to use them.

Należą do nich m.in.: lokowanie BIZ w sektorze usług, przemyśle i branży IT, wzrost otwartości rynku oraz interakcje zmiennychuwzględniające obostrzenia wprowadzane w gospodarce w związku ze stanem pandemii.

The importance of foreign direct investment (FDI) to the economic development of Poland cannot be overestimated, both at the regional level and in relation to the economy as a whole. Since FDIs are powered by capital sensitive to various national and international crises, it seems natural to ask whether the situation connected with the global COVID-19 pandemic is reflected in the reduction of FDI inflows to Poland. The aim of the paper is to identify the determinants of the foreign divestment process in the Polish economy as a whole and in its main sectors during the COVID-19 pandemic. The article analyses scenarios of foreign divestment in Poland in an annual perspective, starting from the outbreak of the epidemic in March 2020 up to February 2021. The study used data from a survey conducted in April and May 2020 among nearly 500 enterprises realising FDI in Poland. The benchmark for the surveyed companies was the level of their involvement in FDIs covering a one-year period prior to the announcement of the epidemic. The application of logit models allowed the identification of the most important factors of foreign divestment during COVID-19, including the location of FDIs in the services sector, industry, the IT sector, increased market openness and interactions of variables taking into account the restrictions introduced to the economy due to the pandemic. The level of risk of divestment of these variables depends, however, on the volume of FDI reductions declared by investors and on the sector of the economy. If considerable divestment is assumed, FDIs in the services sector are then burdened with a higher risk of divestment than FDIs in the processing industry. Assuming small divestments, FDIs in the IT sector constitute a factor bearing the greatest risk of FDI reduction in the entire economy.

The goal of the paper is to examine the differences and similarities between Polish voivodships in the field the development of the COVID-19 epidemic in the period from March 4 to May 31, 2020. Healthcare financing in 2018 was taken into account. Two approaches were used to study the development of the epidemic. Results indicate similarities between voivodships. For analysis based on the values of variables describing the epidemic development on each day of the studied period, the number of deaths per 10 thousand people turned out to be important for the final classification. In the alternative approach, dynamics was taken into account. The number of cases per 10 thousand people was a decisive factor in the classification. The similarities of groupings in terms of financing and the course of the epidemic are not large, the relatively smallest differences occur in the case of the classification taking into account deaths.

Acute respiratory disease (COVID-19) is caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, and its first cases were reported in Wuhan, China in December 2019. Soon, the epidemic of this disease, due to its dynamics and global scope, was called pandemic. For this reason, in many countries all over the world, various types of restrictions have been introduced, mainly related to social movement and contacts. Due to the introduced changes, people with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) lost the possibility of using systemic and comprehensive institutional assistance and support (such as therapy and schooling). Due to the specificity of their functioning, they also experienced a number of difficult situations. This article is an attempt to describe the difficulties that people with ASD have to face in a pandemic, and also presents examples of supporting strategies, which can help them to understand the situation and improve coping with stress. The proposals are created on the basis of Carol Gray’s social stories and use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication means to convey information about the virus and rules of behavior, as well as to facilitate the expression and regulation of emotions, and sensitize caregivers to difficult mental and somatic experiences faced by people with ASD, which might be subtly and ambiguously expressed.

The aim of this article is to present the risk factors for dysphagia in patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 based on available sources, both domestic and foreign. Swallowing disorders are a common symptom among patients hospitalised for COVID 19. Dysphagia has been shown to be an independent predictor of in-hospital mortality, prolonged hospitalisation, and is associated with an unfavourable prognosis in these patients. Therefore, learning about the mechanisms and factors causing swallowing disorders is very important and should be well understood. The aetiology of dysphagia in COVID-19 is multifactorial. Both the presence of risk factors for progression to severe infection, changes in the body as a result of the disease, and the treatment used can account for swallowing difficulties.

Lekarze podejmują decyzje dotyczące świadczenia usług medycznych z należytą starannością w oparciu o aktualną wiedzę medyczną i zasady etyki zawodowej.

Physicians make decisions in regard to providing medical services with due diligence according to evidence based medicine and the principles of professional ethics. Sometimes, despite their efforts, they make medical errors as a consequence of the actions taken. The main purpose of the article is to analyze the issue of medical errors in the context of physicians' liability for committed errors. In this paper the types of physicians' liability in relation to their professional work were discussed and the types of medical errors were indicated. On the basis of the author's own research, the most significant influential factors to the possibility of making mistakes by physicians were determined. Regarding the SARS-CoV-2019 pandemic situation, the legal protection of physicians was analyzed. The most significant supporting factor, the removal of criminal liability for errors was indicated by the majority of the physicians. The article presents an example of a system based on open error reporting to eliminate them. The theoretical considerations were complemented by the statement of a physician employed in Sweden. The implementation of a key conclusion in public health care units in Poland was proposed. The discussed topic is intriguing and relevant regarding the pandemic phenomenon.

The emergence and rapid worldwide spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus resulted in increase in the production of plastic waste. The greatest increase in demand was recorded for personal protective equipment due to the fact that many countries have ordered their wearing in public space. The production of disposable food packaging has also increased during the pandemic. Researchers noted that environmental pollution will increase due to improper management of plastic waste and disposal of personal protective equipment (PPE). A rational method of management and processing of plastic waste generated during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic should be developed in such a way that it does not endanger the environment or human health. This article proposes a method of thermal processing of the above-mentioned waste, namely pyrolysis, which can replace landfilling and incineration. This method allows not only effective neutralization of hazardous waste, but also, which is particularly important, leads to the creation of valuable products.

Measures taken to minimize the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy involved spending public funds in a different way than was planned in the budgets of public sector units. National and local governments around the world introduced measures to limit the spread of the virus, translating, among other things, into restrictions on the activities of economic entities. This situation has resulted, on the one hand, in a reduction of both tax and fee revenues and other public and legal charges not only to the state budget, but also to the various levels of territorial sector units, and, on the other hand, in increased spending by these institutions. It has become a common opinion that the pandemic has affected the financial condition of local government units, but there is a lack of analysis in the literature at the level of provinces, which are financed differently than the municipal level in Poland. This study aimed to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the financial condition of local government provinces in Poland as depicted by fundamental budget indicators. The analysis showed that based on indicators that, according to theory, should describe the financial situation of territorial sector units, in emergency situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic, do not reflect the actual picture. Our considerations indicate that certain theoretical assumptions are not suitable for “difficult times”. If one were to base only on numbers and theory, one would be led to the erroneous conclusion that the pandemic did not financially affect territorial sector units at the regional (provincial) level.

The pillars of European society, and in the world view of Anglo-Saxon culture, are planted on capitalism and cosmopolitanism. Democracy as the desired political model in this community is responsible for such fundamental issues as individual freedom, rights of assembly. At the other extreme is Chinese society, punitive and subordinate to the state in almost every sphere of life. Segregated and evaluated by a social point system, a society that since the dawn of time has in its nature a devotion to authority and the broader state. The purpose of this paper is to provide a comparative analysis of how the epidemic has affected the world and how its different regions are dealing with the COVID-19virus. A choice of three levels of evaluation has been made. The public, i.e. the media and reactions to the government’s strictures and policies, the ruling cabinet as a decision-making center, and the economy. The main research hypothesis in this paper is that COVID-19 is a complex enough problem to become a symptom for a change in world order.

Frequency of the interpretative frame of “COVID-19 pandemic”, and thus its impact on global and national public opinion, has increased since January 2020 to such an extent – that today it is difficult to imagine any TV news where the receiver will not hear a word about the coronavirus. The main objective of the article is to provide an analytical report of the utility of the “COVID-19 pandemic” frame with four selected principles for the imple- mentation of propaganda projects. In the first part of the study the essence of propaganda was characterized. The second and third parts of the article analyse the usefulness of the COVID-19 pandemic framework for implementing selected principles of political propaganda. The last part of the study includes a summary.

Globalny kryzys związany z pandemią COVID-19 zainspirował zarówno naukowców, jak i praktyków do badania nowych hipotez i formułowania nowych teorii dotyczących sytuacji finansowej przedsiębiorstw. Wzrost absencji chorobowych zaowocował planami reorganizacji pracy.

The global crisis related to the COVID-19 pandemic engaged both academics and practitioners in studying new hypotheses and formulating new theories about the corporate financial situation. Unfortunately, according to the revised literature, the conclusions about big companies within a continuous production cycle during the pandemic are limited. The purpose of the article was to identify how COVID-19 influenced the human resources in these corporations, and what was the role of management control systems in the reduction of its negative impact. The pandemic's parameters were correlated with human resources key performance indicators. The research method employed correlation and regression analysis with wild bootstrapping. The results showed that absences due to sickness were directly related to current holiday leaves, and were usually linked to the pandemic. This increases the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the availability of human resources. The increase of sickness absences resulted in the reorganization of work plans. The pandemic crisis emphasized the role of the management control system in personnel controlling.
