The intensity of the development of voluntary service will be in the future a road on which the main aims of social work will be realized by helping people in need. A series of tax reliefs and exemptions will be mainly the consequence of connecting this type of activity with business. A system created in this way will allow to help transfer a stream of money which will build an essential pillar for the social activity. Costs borne by voluntary service were lower and still will be lower than costs of strictly institutionalised organisations. Moreover, this primal idea, for which above mentioned voluntary service was set up, will be retained. One cannot also exclude such a situation when voluntary service makes up an alternative form of social activity for many people. Because for them the political activity which was discredited many times is not possible to accept. The more often a political scene will be the arena which will be losing credibility and confidence, the more often and wider will develop nongovernmental patterns of social activity including voluntary ones at every level of the organization of society. Social structures have not worked out any different alternative and it is necessary to suppose that they will never work it out. The lack of social activity, and at the same time a lack of development of voluntary service as an alternative for strongly formalised solutions is threatened with self-destruction of social structures, and in the consequence dismantling of democratic systems as a result of a decline in their efficiency.

In this article the theory of social work will be discussed more specifically. By «theory of social work» I mean the field of science, the subject of which is the practice of social work. The primary aim of this article is to present it as the science and not only describe various theories developed in the context of this doctrine.
The following article analyzes the relationship between social pedagogy, social policy and the system of care and social assistance. The term “system of care and social assistance” should be understood here as widely as possible. It is therefore not only of direct support and assistance in the form of social work, social care homes, etc., but with all the services provided by the state forms of support, ranging from different types of activation in areas of poverty and exclusion, by solving the problems of addiction, to the organization of assistance to the sick or old. Therefore it is not only to reduce this system to social assistance. Thus understood, the welfare system is an area of practical activity, intended to produce specific social change.
The object of social work are both the individuals and social groups (families or more extended communities). Depending on which groups of people require help, social work arouses various requirements which from the point of view of the social workers’ education create the need for specialisation. One can distinguish several specific groups of the clients of social work: children, the old age people (gerontological nursing), ill and disabled individuals and local communities. Special problems and challenges appear when a child is its object. It happens that because in the case of children separating interim help or long-term financial assistance from the pedagogic influence is impossible, and thus from responsibility for charges’ future. Social workers do not bear full responsibility for the state of child’s future, because they share this responsibility with different subjects, it does not mean, however, that they do not bear it at all. One can distinguish two extreme positions among the theoreticians of social work: according to one of them, represented among others by H. Radlińska, social welfare institutions totally take over the responsibility for the child’s future, what is connected with the limitation of freedom, and according to the latter, such a responsibility, in practice, is not possible.
The intensity of the development of voluntary service will be in the future a road on which the main aims of social work will be realized by helping people in need. A series of tax reliefs and exemptions will be mainly the consequence of connecting this type of activity with business. Supervision is a concept that is already firmly rooted in the Polish reality of social work, but also in other professions, whose primary activity is the one carried out for the benefit of another person. It serves to maintain a high level of services provided by the employee and his professional competence. It is supposed to prevent professional burnout of employees by constantly “controlling” their needs, difficulties they face. It is constantly developing and transforming. We can say that we are dealing with a process of institutionalization of supervision, the direction of which cannot be fully predicted. The aim of this work is therefore to signal selected theoretical threads in the field of supervision and indicate their practical applications.
Supervision has its origins as early as in the 19th century. In the first period, it involved supervising overseers or otherwise supervisors over the activities of volunteers who, among poor families, spread the pattern of correct (“healthy”) relationships. The task of supervisors was to control and advise volunteers. Since then, the notion of supervision has changed a little, but its meaning began to grow. In today’s understanding, we call supervision a process during which a social worker develops his or her interpersonal skills and learns how to deal methodically with a social worker (Domaradzki, Krzyszkowski i in. 2016: 17). In other words, it is a meeting of a person working in the aid sector with a certified supervisor in order to create space for reflection on the relationship between the supervisor and his client. Among the types of supervision we can distinguish: individual supervision (follow-up and participatory), programme and project supervision and group supervision (follow-up and participatory). In my paper I would like to describe the most important aspects related to supervision and show why it is an important element of social work that improves the quality of social assistance services.
The purpose of the article is to show the variety (albeit limited to only some) of social action concepts, and thus the possibility of finding such theoretical foundations that can contribute to new reflection on activities performed on a volunteer basis in the field of social work.
In the article the necessity of social support for underage mothers is revealed. The causes of early motherhood include: the processes of acceleration; the liberalization of attitudes in society; effects on behavior of youth media; stability of gender stereotypes; sexual, physical and mental abuse; dysfunctional relationships of adolescents with parents; negative effect of individual education programmes and the lack of an effective system of structural prevention. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the theoretical and methodological foundations of social support for adolescent mothers and justification of the opportunities for its optimization. It is revealed that social support for adolescent mothers is a work aimed at the implementation of social care, assistance and patronage of adolescent mothers to overcome difficulties in life, preserve, enhance her social status.Social support is aimed at finding ways out of a problem situation, to help activate reserves of a young mother. It is determined that the social support of adolescent mothers is characterized by indicators: a systematic approach, phasing, dynamics and flexibility, variability, performance. In the implementation of social support of teenage mothers, it is advisable to use methods such as: socio-economic, institutional, educational, psychological and sociological. It is established that the socio-pedagogical support, as a type of social support focuses on the process of transferring the social experience taking into account characteristics and needs of different categories, the result of which is the inclusion in all social systems, structures, societies, and communications intended for healthy people, as well as active participation in major areas of life and activities of the company in accordance with age and gender, preparing them for a meaningful adult life, the most complete self-realization and disclosure as a person. It is proved that the complex activities in providing various types of assistance for adolescent mothers and their children will help solve the problem of social adaptation of this category of the population. Criterion of the effectiveness of social support is the transformation of underage mothers from providing customer support in client-social service and social prevention. It is revealed that to optimize social support by adolescent mothers: improvement of normative-legal base of social support; improvement of the content of social support for teenage mothers and training of qualified personnel for the implementation of this type of social work.
Fate of victim who victom needs not be, if public prosecutor and policeman act witf law and fate of man he is in newspaper unripe man, pathologies killer, social exile – these fates are for social work interesting. They are consequences of unfeeeling access.
In the last few decades, the traditional concept of family has weakened while the development of numerous new constellations has gained a lot of attention. Convention sees family as a nuclear social formation, where heterosexual parents raise their children well. This view attests to the potential for healthy functioning in a variety of family arrangements, and to the stability of these social environments. In the turmoil of our rapidly changing world, the value of system orientation is changing and questions are being raised over what is an ordinary landscape of family life, its constellations and optimal functioning. This article raises familyrelevant issues and discusses social pedagogy in family social work, particularly related to social care in Sweden intended for socially vulnerable populations such as the elderly, members of minority ethnic groups, and persons with disabilities suffering from discrimination and social exclusion. It is concluded that – in these populations – the family constellation, be it traditional or modern, is not really the issue, since public social care service constructions have mostly replaced traditional caring relations within families with leveling institutional structures. The social pedagogy in family social work professional practice is conducted using socio-ecological approaches for assessment, treatment and service delivery, for the improvement of individual wellbeing referred to as the individual, social and sociopolitical life-world context.
This study focuses on the approaches used by Czech social workers operating in the field of child protection to resolve parental conflicts and looks specifically at their inclination to employ defensive practice. Defensive practice involves prioritising regulations and prescribed rules over the interests of clients, i.e. parents and children. The aim of this study is to verify, with the help of a questionnaire, the theoretical connections between the use of defensive practice and several factors that represent working conditions and external pressures. The research indicates that the factors connected with the use of defensive practice to deal with parental conflicts have the opposite effect in the Czech Republic that that observed in international studies or have no influence whatsoever. Child protection social workers who emphasise compliance regard their working conditions as favourable and have somewhat conservative attitudes and beliefs. The authors’ interpretation of the findings is that the emphasis on regulations in Czech child protection is not a defensive reaction to threatening working conditions, but an expression of loyalty to an organisation that offers them a pleasant work environment where they need not be afraid of any potential failures or consequences of their decisions. They also propose redefining Czech defensive practice by placing less emphasis on compliance as a reaction to unfavourable working conditions.
The author of the article stresses that at the present stage of the development of our country and other developed countries volunteer movement plays an important role and is increasing rapidly.Declaration of Independence of Ukraine has contributed to the transformation in all spheres of Ukrainian society, which gave a new impetus to research of the existence of actual realities of society. The decline or partial transformation of old and new forms of social relations, including, in particular, volunteering was caused by changing of the social order, reorientation of the principles of market economy, socio-political and economic instability. The author notes that the end of the twentieth century was marked by the fact that volunteering in the social development was officially recognized by the international community. For the last decade the topic of volunteering has been repeatedly discussed at the meetings of the UN General Assembly. Different approaches to the notion of «volunteer» are presented by the author. According to the domestic sociologist Ivan Yurchenko, volunteering is a socially useful activity free of charge, which is a leader of spiritual, moral, ethical, cultural, social, political and economic values and can take any form of traditional institutions for mutual assistance to mobilized socially useful work during crises or natural disasters, from manifestations of altruism to the structured organization of volunteerism at the international scale. The article is devotedtothe historical development of international volunteer movement. The author determines the stages of international volunteer movement: 1) the 1750–1913 years (formation) – the involvement of the middle and upper classes of Western society in social work to the fight against poverty, 2) the 1914–1971 years (institutionalization) –the expansion of government structures fully provided social services, the implementation of the first large-scale volunteer projects, 3) the 1972–1991 years (integration) –the beginning of the system infrastructure that supports volunteering, 4) 1991 –present (globalization) – volunteerism as a very important element of democracy, whereby citizens take responsibility for the public. Thus, international volunteer movement has passed its own long historical development and is a powerful tool to address various social issues. The main areas of activity are: the struggle for the liberation of the slaves, for getting women equal rights with men; environmental protection, the rights of the buyers; promotion of the policy of nonviolence, international understanding.
Roma are an ethnic group whose ancestors came from India. They left their original homeland in several waves during 9-10. century. Characterized Roma as an ethnic group has tried several ethnographers. Horváthová characterizes Gypsies Roma read: „Gypsies are exterritorial, an ethnic group living in inoetnickom environment as an internally differentiated diaspora.” (1964, In: Koteková, Šimová, Gecková 1998, p. 46.) Dubayová this definition adds: „They are incomplete predtriednou ethnic formation. „(2001, p. 50.) in 1971, in London met Roma representatives from each country and founded the World Romani Union. In recent decades, a substantial demographic changes in the structure of Polish society. The decrease in growth, changes in family patterns, lengthening the duration of life, resulted in an aging population. According to demographic projections, the number of people of retirement age will increase by 2050. Globally and 25% in Europe, up to 51% of the entire population. These changes can also be observed in Poland, where declining number of births and marriages, and a shift in the average age of reproduction. In 2002 he was reached level 14% of people of retirement age in the total population of the country which is considered the limit for the completion of the aging population. GUS expected number of people of retirement age will increase from 6, 5 million in 2010 to 9, 6 million in 2035, which would represent 26, 7% of the total population. The aging process has a multifaceted dimension; medical, psychological, social, ethical and deserves special attention in the era of political and socio-economic. From the point of view of gerontopedagogiki, old age is a period of life in which man can live actively pursuing their interests, participate in social activities, educate and serve their knowledge and experience. Already Helena Radlińska (creator of special education in Poland 1935.) And Aleksander Kaminski emphasized the need to take action care centers for the elderly. They believed that social pedagogy must take issues such as the implementation of elderly people to new behaviors and accept old age, and the launch facilities intended for the elderly, where they could spend their free time actively.
Dynamic of the society development is associated with extension of social problems, notably in educational context. The role of school, as the main public institution for social development of the students, is now obvious throughout the world. Consequently the role of social workers in schools is becoming essential, especially in terms of the inclusion of marginalized children from the opportunity of education, by impacting the educational system, to meet the diverse needs of all learners. Social work is focused on the welfare of individuals by increasing and developing their potential, so it goes hand in hand with inclusive education for children with disabilities, which emphasizes the children’ rights to obtain a definite, qualitative and suitable education in regular schools. The main focus of this study was to draw a clear panorama of the school social workers’ role towards the processes of inclusiveness of students with disabilities in Albanian regular schools. The data were collected via in-depth interviews with eight school social workers of the secondary schools in Korça region. The results showed that social service in schools is very important for helping students to develop social competences, intermediating parents in utilizing school and community resources, identifying and reporting bullying phenomenon, etc. School social workers could play a key role to implement the educational reform, which is being undertaken in Albania. Interviewees also shared their difficulties regarding the practical work, especially obstacles related to inclusive education processes.
There has been a long-standing discussion in Poland about the efficient and effective functioning of the social welfare and integration system. The transformations it has been undergoing for years in connection with the possibilities of benefiting from the EU funds and as a results of its attempted reforms and rationalisation demonstrate that the issue of professionalising the social worker profession is actually of little interest to anybody, despite the fact that this is a regulated profession with quite a strong presence in the current scientific discourse. If performed in a professional manner, methodical social work is a very important tool which may significantly contribute to increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of social interventions, thereby improving the quality of the public sphere in this segment. In this context, an important role is played by evaluation, understood as analysing the value of a specific action – with reference to social projects and programmes. Of particular importance here is the latest generation evaluation, which makes use of action research, thereby increasing the chances to raise the level of social participation and simultaneously reduce the problem of social exclusion. On the other hand, it is necessary to note the crucial role that evaluation may play in reinforcing and sustaining the professional identity of social workers, especially in the face of the constant changes and reforms of the social welfare system.
