Religious crises are a kind of psychological crises associated with the process of personality development. Authors dealing with religious crisis, in place of this term often applies the concept of conversion or doubt. The term is ambiguous and there is not finally define. Different authors to the religious crisis approach in two ways: Some are discussing this phenomenon more structurally, others describe them more in the context of development. The most comprehensive description of conversion we find on William James. As a scientist dealing with religion, James believed, that you can supernatural made make it more clear and you can try to interpret it psychologically. Given the different understanding of the religious crisis show multiple attempts to describe this phenomenon. All authors we see common elements like: a gradual or sudden, perceptible change in the religious life of the unit, annoying State of emotional tension and doubts in the field of religion. Crisis can end up positively, It means the unit enters the taller, darker level of faith, or can end up adversely, It means the person will go away from the faith completely or become agnostic.

The article discusses the factors that led to the economic slump of 2007 and describes the course of the present crisis. The study is an attempt to consolidate the results of research done by various scholars and to indicate the most significant – in the author’s opinion – influences on world economy in the future. The author underscores the role of subprime loans as a direct impulse that caused the slump, presents the stages of the spreading of economic slowdown onto the economies of different continents and characterizes its implications for individual countries with particular focus on Europe, the EU states and eurozone included. In the last part she describes the situation of Poland and strives to explain why our country was only faintly affected by the crisis. Conclusions are also drawn for the future with a view to making the subsequent slumps much less acute for the economies.

Different scenarios are devoted to current events, some assume in nature disaster, seeing the collapse of the euro area and the EU. Others, however, although they have every day more and more, they see consolidation in the crisis of the Eurozone and the EU whole as a result of taking any effective action as it was accompanied by the previous diaphragms. Danger, which involves the actual destabilization can induce that the old member countries might be tempted to focus on cooperation, without looking for new partners making increasingly difficulties, which are trying to highlight their demands by blocking the decision-making process of the Union. In turn, some of the new members of the Union may fall into claustrophobic selfimportance (inability?) such countries, covering their weaknesses by external threats will increase abstinence in relation to joint to the decision-making process. We believe that the European Union has rolled off on Hallsteinow bicycle integration, maybe not so far but certainly into a side road. The authors of this article are “for” the creation of a better Europe, a united, strong and open to trade. But throughout this process, let us not forget about our own countries which gives us a basis for political and civil freedoms, acting boundary fence with Eurosphere. Frederic Bastiat wrote If we are talking about us, I think that the country is not, or should not be anything other than a common force established in order not to become a tool of oppression and mutual plunder. On the contrary, it is in order to give everyone his due, and to prevailed justice and security.

Any global phenomenon manifests itself differently in various countries and regions. Our idea is that for Russia the global crisis can be considered as the third phase of the long-term national socio-economic crisis, and for the important part of Russia, Siberia, even as the fourth phase. These phases are:• First, the crisis of economy, of ideology, of social relationships and of political system stemming from the Soviet times, having brought the crush of the state, some problems of which have been still unsolved;• Second, the crisis of the 90s, born from this crash and economic reforms, including the very crush of the integral country, very painful for common people, poverty, together with social pessimism and passiveness of people who were robbed by the hyperinflation and stagnation of the sectors, such as science and education, that had never been backward in the Soviet times and could perhaps serve as growth points for the new economy, if used and stimulated properly.• Third, specifically Siberian, extensive out-migration and depopulation, in the conditions when state economic policy is influenced by ultra-liberalism denying any state regulation, together with power hyper-centralization, which both tendencies, paradoxically united, lead automatically to concentration of everything in wealthy Moscow.• Fourth, the very global crisis itself

The paper presents changes in the spatial relationships between the agents of the network company in times of crisis. The analyzed company performs the production and supply of cement-based and polymer materials for industrial construction and has offices in the most industrialized regions of Russia. In crisis the company decided to withdraw from certain markets and closed some regional missions. The rupture of a unitary structure of the company led to formation of separate regional firms. On the basis of the parent company new organizations have been formed in some regions united by a common client base, similar products and a unified social network. This process has both positive and negative aspects for customers and manufacturers. The need for policy coherence for the overall survival results in the formation of a new regional industry clusters with the intention of improving product and service quality.

Grażyna Dryżałowska, Special pedagogy at a crossroads. Perspectives of contemporary special pedagogy. Interdisciplinary Contexts of Special Pedagogy, no. 25, Poznań 2019. Pp. 105-125. Adam Mickiewicz University Press. ISSN 2300-391X. DOI: https://doi.org/10.14746/ikps.2019.25.05 The article is an attempt to reflect on the difficult situation in which special pedagogy was found. It is more difficult than the crisis that took place after 1989, because the fascination with the idea of normalisation and integration is gradually decreasing, and there is no new concepts for the further development of special education as a scientific sub-discipline obliged to respond to modern challenges.

The article aims to answer the question: what type of humor is the most used in times of crisis? First of all, however, one must realize that humorous discourse analysis is not the task of a single discipline. For this reason, the first part of the article presents the contributions of other scientific disciplines to the methodology used in this study.

In modern time we can observe great interest for ethics in economy and in the market. Ethical culture is being more and more understood as conditio sine qua non. We are confronting now all kinds of crises in economics and finance, but it is in principle one great moral crisis of human being. We need to return to old principles of moral behaving and use the Church’s teaching in social field.

The relevance of the crisis situation diagnosis is confirmed by the diagnosis decisions designed and applied in the business practice, audit reports, bank assessment methods and company‘s own concernment. The aim of the research is to define crisis development stages and possible preventive means and to design the crisis diagnosis system in the anti-crisis management process in a company. The paper deals with four stages of crisis development: prodromal crisis (CP), acute crisis (CA), and chronic crisis (CC). Crisis resolution (CR) is the final goal of any crisis management. When a crisis is overcome, its performance stabilizes and a company starts to grow. Therefore, the main point in company’s management process is to notice the barrier when company’s performance starts going down, in order to foresee the result which can cause crisis situation in a company.

Over the years scholars, politicians, economists and others have recognized that no country could achieve economic growth and development without an efficient educational system. Functional education plays a central role in preparing individuals to become the labour force and in the same time to respect the environment in order to use efficiently the resources. It is said that from immemorial times, education was the one who offered solutions to various problems, but also generated a lot of controversies in the evolution of the world. Thus, in the case of a crisis, the education must be studied from at least two points of view. When speaking about crisis, first we must pose a question whether education is only a victim of the crisis or it may be a cause or a part of the solution needed to exit from the crisis. Starting from such a question, this paper aims to emphasize the existing connection between economic crisis and the contemporary education. The paper starts by using a retrospective and contrastive analysis, based on methodological pillars such as: filiations of ideas, genesis, and statistics. Using quantitative and also qualitative methods, the paper focuses on the way of functioning of the Romanian educational system and offers suggestions  how to improve it.

The main goal of this article is to find the answer for the question about the necessary reform to be undertaken in the EU to save the euro as a common cur-rency. The author envisages three scenarios of the euro area’s future development. In his opinion, the most probable one are the institutional reforms in the euro area. The essential element of the reform is to establish a proper mix between the ECB’ monetary policy and fiscal policies in the member states. All proposed steps against the euro crisis are mutually correlated: monetary integration requires stricter fiscal integration, fiscal integration requires banking union, but banking union is going to require some form of a political union. This way the debt crisis in the euro area may present an opportunity to renew the strength of the European institutions.

Facing the economic crisis (began in 2007) managers and political leaders pay more attention to the postulate of socially responsible business. The axiological turn gives new possibilities to implement ethical standards in the sphere of economy. Alas, at the same time, this task evokes the following problems. Firstly, as social researchers, we need to know how to compose heterogeneous axiological systems (to join rules of ethics with the imperative of economic efficiency). Secondly, as market participants, we have to find the formula of mutual understanding (being seen as precondition of our ethical claims).

In the context of globalization processes, the social market economy (SME) is in the crisis. Reflection on the features of that model is closely related with the scientific dispute over its designation. It could be perceived as a theory, political program, sort of economic order, structure, model or system of economic and social development. Sometimes it is seemed as an idealistic vision or even political utopia (Niklas Luhmann). Others (eg. Peter Koslowski) argue that this system has come to an end. In favor of this thesis they refer to various arguments: lack of consensus on redistribution, demographic crisis, depletion of solidarity resources, intergenerational imbalance that threatens the retirement systems and many others. Despite the range of these arguments, it appears that the SME still has a specific potential that could be freed. Combating difficulties associated with globalization processes such as: dominance of the economy over politics, ‘tax starvation’ of the welfare state, marginalization of trade unions, dispersion of ownership and its detachment from responsibility, ‘financialization’ of economy, dominance of ‘casino capitalism’, could help to heal SME. The crisis on financial markets might be paradoxically an opportunity to return to the ethical foundations of the SME.

The need of leadership in the European Union becomes especially conspicuous in situations of crisis. So far the member states managed to weather many such crises unscathed and afterwards adopted a new treaty or reached a gentlemen’s agreement to clarify any controversial regulations of the treaty in force. However, the consequences of the global economic crisis for the EU and its particular member states seem to have a deep effect on the nature of the EU and the character of cooperation between its member states. In a natural way therefore there emerges the need for an anti-crisis leadership, especially a collective one. The authors of the article strive to answer the following questions: How does the crisis affect the functioning of EU institutions?; How can the presidency of the EU Council act as the principal coordinator of the EU’s anti-crisis measures?; and finally: How did Poland during its presidency of the EU Council influence the scenarios of overcoming the crisis within the EU?; What was the role of the Polish Prime Minister in this context?

The discussion on the quality of education that meets the expectations placed in it has been conducted for decades. It contributes to the implementation of further reforms of the educational system, which, due to the dynamic changes in social life, quickly turn out to be insufficient ‒ delayed, not accurate, not complete. In times of a crisis of values and authorities, and growing pathologies in many areas of social life, contemporary school is not always subjected to fully justified criticism and assessed as dysfunctional. However, is it only she who is to blame for the crisis of humanity which is becoming more and more noticed in the world?

The recent volatility of exchange rates of practically all currencies exerts a direct influence on import/export prices, interest rate levels, state budget revenues and profits. This has had a destabilising effect on national economies and consequently triggered a financial crisis, i.e. the situation that we are currently in. One important factor is the apparent dependence of financial markets on the monetary and exchange rate policies pursued by the financial institutions of key-currency countries. These institutions, accordingly, have a great deal of responsibility for stabilising key financial markets and collaboration between the main institutions of the Triad, i.e. the US Federal Reserve, the Bank of Japan and the European Central Bank. In the absence of coherent, unified and widespread stabilisation mechanisms at the level of national economies and in the face of speculative behaviour by private and institutional investors, plus speculative strategies being commonly adopted by businesses, international financial markets remain highly turbulent and companies have to cope with a rising expense bill.

The aim of this article is to assess the economic situation in the Warmia and Mazury in 2008-2011. It is still period of unfinished crisis, starting in the end of 2008. The basis for assessment of the economic situation is the analysis of economic values such as: unemployment, level of employment, industrial production, construction and assembly production, retail sales, wage dynamics, foreign trade. With the synthetic evaluation of the economic situation of the region of Warmia and Mazury in view, there were built two indexes, taking into account current and projected state of prosperity. The results show that after a slightly better first half of 2011, follows suppressing of the growth rate, which can be seen in decreasing dynamics of these economic values.

The first part of the article presents a general theoretical reflection on the conceptions of crises and threats. A thesis is proposed that differentiation of crises, threats and catastrophes is by no means obvious, and this pertains also to their causes and effects. The second part of the paper lists a few dozen events from the history of European civilization which testify to an almost continual existence or at least recurrence of various crises, conflicts and problems. Moreover, the recurring observations of intellectuals with a critical, at times even catastrophic outlook on European (or in broader terms – western) history are mentioned. The last part of the paper is an attempt to answer the question of the nature and causes of the present crisis of civilization and its potential further implications. The author also reflects on whether we are facing a crisis (or perhaps a threat) of our civilization only, or whether it is a threat that pertains to the entire contemporary civilization on a global scale.
