Magdalena Wasylewicz, Aktywność internetowa a poczucie alienacji młodzieży ery mediów [Internet activity and the sense of alienation of young people in the media era]. Interdyscyplinarne Konteksty Pedagogiki Specjalnej, nr 23, Poznań 2018. Pp. 161-176. Adam Mickiewicz University Press. ISSN 2300-391X. DOI: https://doi.org/10.14746/ikps.2018.23.09 The media have become man's natural environment. The younger generation matures in a highly developed society, and the media provide young people with the opportunity to meet fundamental needs, including those of people-to-people contacts. But is it for sure? This raises the question of the link between the Internet activity of young people and their sense of alienation. The article is an attempt to answer this problem. The research was carried out using the diagnostic survey method among 196 students of secondary schools in Podkarpackie and Małopolskie voivodship.
Human life is abundant in events which have impact on people’s life paths, which in turn influence their behavioural patterns shaping them to deviate from the accepted standards. Certainly, the experience of disability is an event which superimposes numerous and wide-ranging biopsychosocial consequences for those affected by it. It is a difficult situation that limits one’s potential to satisfy one’s needs and to meet the expectations of the public. Young people, who desperately look for ways to cope with such a situation, often resort to risky behaviours (e.g.smoking, drinking alcohol, early sexual initiation, aggression) and frequently find themselves in dire straits. However, experience demonstrates that such measures not only fail to solve problems, but intensify them, often leading to social maladjustment, which then may end up in social exclusion. Therefore, risky behaviour, particularly in adolescents with disabilities, appears to be a serious problem thatrequires diagnosis and intervention. The aim of this discussion is to demonstrate risky behaviour in young people with disabilities and to look at it through the prism of their conditioning rooted in their attempts (usually unsuccessful) to cope with a difficult life situation maimed by disability.

The paper has a literature-based and empirical character. The basic research methodologies adopted in the study included analysis of subject literature, diagnostic survey using questionnaire technique, and a statistical method. The questionnaire survey was carried out in 2012-2013 in secondary schools in the region of the Greater Poland Voivodeship in Poland in a group of 850 students. The study demonstrated that young people are physically active and participate in different forms of sport and recreation. However, one third of the young people studied spend their leisure time in a passive manner. They are not involved in any physical activity and spend their leisure time playing computer games, watching the TV, socializing, reading books and magazines and listening to the music. It should be noted that, in this context, the role of physical education teachers and school is critical.

There is a growing understanding that psychiatric treatment is more than psychotherapy and medication, and that people themselves can be active in preventing and handling mental health problems. This brings non-medical solutions into play. Physical activity (in terms of exercise, sport, and fitness) becomes an important contribution in this particular context. The perceived mental and physical benefits of physical activity (both preventative and therapeutic) for people experiencing mental health problems are well documented. Typically, this kind of research focuses narrowly on “size of effect” or “most successful type of intervention” or “exercise versus other treatment.” Less research has explored the lived experience of physical activity and the meaning and relevance it has for individuals in their everyday lives. This article suggests that sport and exercise can play a valuable role in and contribute to the recovery process for young people with mental health problems. Results from an evaluation study of a developmental project in Denmark shows how physical activity affects a person‟s lived experiences, relationships, and pursuits. The findings is discussed in relation to the concept of recovery, especially focusing on exercise as a form of self-care strategy, as an opportunity to create social relationships, and as a way to become part of a meaningful social activity.

Research background: The labour market situation is considered to be the most widely discussed part of economic development. However, it should be noted that the unemployment situation of young people (aged 15-24 years) in Poland in general terms seems to be problematic. Overall, the unemployment rate among young people in Poland is significantly higher than the overall unemployment rate in the EU. Moreover, the situation varies greatly across the regions. Purpose of the article: Using multivariate techniques as a theoretical framework, the main goal of the paper is to identify groups of Polish regions that share similar patterns regarding unemployment among young people. To reach this goal, first a set of labour market indicators were selected. Next, the authors compared the labour market situation of young people between the Polish regions in 2005 and in 2014. Finally, the conclusions regarding the conducted analysis are explored. Methods: The initial calculation is based on the concept of the taxonomic measure developed by Hellwig. The final method used to create clusters of objects (across 16 voivodeships of Poland) is cluster analysis. A segmentation of the voivodeships is observed for the years 2005 and 2014, based on selected indicators to determine the labour market situation. The data was gathered from the databases of the Central Statistical Office of Poland and Eurostat. Findings & Value added: Through the exploration of the advantages of multivariate methods, the nature of youth unemployment is revealed in more detail. Indeed, dendrogram analysis divided the voivodeships into five groups, which are characterized by similar features associated with the labour market. It was found that the groups which emerged in 2005 have a different composition of regions than in 2014; this difference seems to be connected with the economic crisis.

Love is the most widespread phenomenon at the individual, social and cultural level. Our knowledge of love comes both from our individual experiences and the social and cultural models that depict the nature of love in that particular era. There are a number of tools for measuring individual attitudes, feelings, manifestations, and behaviours relating to love. The Individual Representations of Love Scale is based on the fact that representations of love are created at the point where the individual intersects with the culture. The psychometric parameters of the Individual Representations of Love Scale were verified on a sample of 755 young people aged 18-35. Cultural resources and differentiation ability with regard to religious status, gender, and multiple partner relationship characteristics are taken into account. The results show that there are five factors of individual representations of love: 1. biological and selfcentred love, 2. spiritual love, 3. physical love, commitment, searching and building, 4. strength and positive benefits of love, and 5. reverse side of love. The cultural resources of these five factors and the scale’s differentiation ability are discussed.
This paper explores the factors that guide students when deciding whether or not to continue their education beyond secondary school. In the theoretical part, vocational orientation is presented and classified. A survey was carried out on 51 students studying at an agricultural technical school. Most respondents were male and attended classes I, II, III and IV. Most of the respondents came from schools in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship. The results of the study showed that students of agricultural schools chose this type of institution due to the fact that their parents run a farm. However, low motivation for further education in this direction by the respondents was observed.
