Comorbidity, co-occurence of disorders are terms used to describe symptoms, accompanying psychopathological syndromes, or individual incorrect traits of behavior. It is the presence of one or more diseases (disorders) in addition to the basic disease (disorder) or the effect of additional disorders. In children with developmental disorders, there is a specific model of evolution and a tendency to develop not only one but several disorders. This phenomenon is particularly evident among people with autism spectrum disorders. It is even assumed that the comorbidity of diseases and disorders in this population is more frequent, and incorrect development in only one sphere is rare. The issues of the relationship between the spectrum of autistic disorders and other related disorders are extremely complex and involve many diagnostic dilemmas, both due to the uncertain results of scientific studies evaluating the prevalence of co-occurring disorders and due to the unusual heterogeneity observed within the autism spectrum. According to the latest data, 70% of people with autism spectrum may have one coexistent disorder, and 40% of this population has two or more additional disorders (DSM - 5, 2013). The content of the article is the analysis of comorbidity and co-occurence of disorders in people with autism spectrum, their developmental conditions and diagnostic difficulties resulting from the complexity of the pathomechanism of this phenomenon.

Background. Paranoid schizophrenia (PS) and schizoaffective disorder (SD) are complex neurodevelopmental conditions with overlapping clinical features, making their differentiation challenging. Bloch’s Multidimensional Drawing Test (MDZT), a projective psychological assessment tool, offers potential for improved differentiation between these disorders. This study aims to refine the MDZT by developing a logistic regression-based equation utilizing variables such as gender, personality shape mode (f%), and percentage of human content (M%) to enhance diagnostic accuracy. Methods. Data were collected from 94 clinical protocols of patients diagnosed with PS or SD (mean age = 34.4 ± 9 years; 80.8% male). Statistical analyses included independent samples t-tests and logistic regression applied to create an adjusted diagnostic model (Combined Variable No. 4). Key variables included personality shape mode (f%), emotional tuning index (AML), and affective irritability indicator (s). Results. Significant differences were observed between PS and SD patients in personality shape mode (f%), AML, and s variables. A strong correlation was identified between AML and s indices. While the original diagnostic equation demonstrated random accuracy, the revised logistic regression model achieved improved diagnostic precision, correctly classifying 78.7% of cases. Conclusion. The adjusted MDZT represents an improvement over previous versions and can serve as a valuable addition to a comprehensive diagnostic battery; it contributes significantly to clinical decision-making by offering unique insights into the differentiation of PS and SD. Future research should focus on validating the test in broader populations and exploring its longitudinal applications for monitoring symptom progression and treatment outcomes.

Contemporary rehabilitation psychology, takes into account the contextual description of human functioning. In addition, the results of experimental research exhibit modifications of the interpretation of the developmental possibilities of a person with a disability, which involve social conditions, life expectations, behavioral orientations, and the ability to stay in relationships and communicate with the environment, as well as other structural and functional disturbances. This article takes these perspectives into account, by first presenting a historical view of autism, and then briefly describing what changes have occurred in defining autism over the past 70 years. The development of and modification in understanding the concept of "autism" over time, along with specific changes in the classification and understanding of the disorder are also described. The main aim of this article is to present the meaning and method of differential diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders in comparison with other disabilities that manifest similar symptoms. The article compares the primary symptoms differentiating ASD with various degrees of severity and intellectual disability, and SPLD, in addition to other disorders. The issues discussed in this article are important in the context of optimizing the diagnostic process of people with ASD and providing them with adequate and validated therapeutic and intervention strategies.

The aim of the work is to present the origin, clinical picture, differential diagnosis and treatment of various types of torticollis in children. This disease has a different etiology but a few similar symptoms. The torticollis results not only in the asymmetrical position of the head and neck, causing distortion of the face and skull, but also leads to asymmetry of the trunk and contributes to scoliosis. The work discusses the methods of managing a child with an asymmetrical position of the head and neck. The torticollis may be caused by: increased ten-sion and shortening of one of the sternocleidomastoid muscles (congenital muscular type), structural bone changes of the cervical vertebrae (congenital sceletal type) or a consequence of the inflammatory process, vision or hearing disorders (acquired type). Treatment of torti-collis is a long-term process that requires a lot of parents’ involvement. Very good results are brought by the early start of physiotherapy and diligent implementation of the recommended exercises. The initiation of physiotherapy in the advanced stage of the disease is usually not very effective and may expose the child to long-term complications. For that reason, the work closely discusses physiotherapy process in children with the muscular torticollis. In difficult cases, with ineffective rehabilitation, botulinum toxin is injected into the muscle and finally surgical treatment involving the intersection of three sternocleidomastoid muscle trailers is performed.

The aim of this study is to present a case report based on the Rorschach protocol of an adolescent patient with anorexia nervosa, demonstrating hypervigilant experiencing and distorted thinking patterns. Based on the psychological characteristics of adolescence and quantitative research on the monitoring of eating disorders with the Rorschach test, the key variables of the applied method and their expected configuration are defined. The case study presents anamnestic data of a seventeen-year-old patient with anorexia nervosa and information about the context of the psychological diagnosis performed. The protocol contains 37 responses collected according to the rules of the Comprehensive System. The scoring is done according to the Comprehe nsive System rules and includes the scales used in previous studies. The scoring system for barriers and penetrations is also newly used. In addition to assessing agreement with the expected configuration of variables (introversion; high PTI, Wsum6, Mp; low H and Hd; high dysphoric experiencing, aggression and S), particular attention is paid to the dynamics of the protocol and the importance of partial variables in the overall protocol picture, focusing on distorted thinking, body theme and aggression. The case study offers insight into the dynamics of hypervigilant and fantasy-distorted experiences of body themes. In addition to the limitations of the idiographic approach to personality, the limitation is the absence of other patient protocols reflecting the disease's development

Případová studie prezentuje anamnestická data 17leté pacientky s mentální anorexií a informace o kontextu provedené psychologické diagnostiky.

Współchorobowość, współwystępowanie zaburzeń to terminy stosowane do opisu objawów, zespołów psychopatologicznych towarzyszących bądź pojedynczych nieprawidłowych cech zachowania.
