The article aims to show the major labour market problems connected to economic and social changes which happened in Poland at the end of the 20th and at the beginning of the 21th century, and their practical implications for educational purposes. Their results are difficult to estimate as they are still in process. However, they are inarguably long-termed and long-lasting. The question emerges about the nature of radical changes in Poland in the last decade and their consequences. The diagnosis of these changes constitutes an important research subject as well as the theoretical reflection for sociologists, economists, pedagogues, psychologies as practical programs implemented in the educational policies of the country depend on its accuracy. The long-awaited membership in the European Union has transformed Poland into a new European-global dimension. It is marked with hypercompetition, free flow of human resources, new, flexible forms of employment, high unemployment rates in Europe, therefore a need for the scientists, practitioners and politicians to reflect on these in an attempt to find the solutions, not only to form questions. It is felt that a social debate as well as institutions and non-government organizations should play a vital role in adjusting to the new labour market. Similarly to other European countries, they should become an active partner in unemployment prevention programs.

The essential issue are the processes of education and training with self-education and self-training of students and adults which have a deep cognitive and utilitarian sense.

W opracowanym temacie kluczowym pojęciem jest pedagogika pracy dostrzega-na w jej rozwoju w odmiennych uwarunkowaniach społeczno-ustrojowych w Polskiej Rzeczypospolitej Ludowej (w latach 1970–1989) oraz w Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej (w latach 1990–2012). Z drugiej jednak strony przedmiotem rozważań są także spra-wy dotyczące technologii kształcenia i technologii informacyjnej, jak również psy-chopedagogicznej twórczości, które na ogół pełnią funkcje katalizatorów progresu dla szeroko rozumianego wychowania dla pracy i poprzez pracę. Chodzi zwłaszcza o edukację zawodową, korespondującą z potrzebami rynku pracy, który coraz częściej staje się nieprzyjazny dla absolwentów różnych szkół i form edukacji równoległej oraz osób poszukujących pracy.

The issue of vocational education is constantly present in the discourses and literature of labour pedagogy. In various forms, the environment of work pedagogy presents positions, theses, models of solutions, and ideologies referring to various problems of this educational area. They encompass, among others: the humanization of vocational education processes and maintaining the balance between instrumental and directional education; a holistic model of education and the preparation of school graduates, etc. Meanwhile, the practice of vocational schools clearly shows a tendency towards market rationality and extreme economic efficiency of schools, measured, for example, by external evaluation.

Problematyka kształcenia zawodowego jest stale obecna w dyskursach i literaturze pedagogiki pracy. W różnych formach to środowisko naukowe prezentuje własne stanowiska, tezy, modele rozwiązań, ideologie, nawiązujące do rozmaitych problemów tego obszaru edukacyjnego. Mowa w nich m.in. o warunkach humanizacji procesów kształcenia zawodowego i zachowaniu równowagi pomiędzy kształceniem instrumentalnym i kierunkowym, holistycznym modelu kształcenia i przygotowaniu absolwentów szkół itd. Tymczasem w praktyce wyraźne są oznaki zmierzania ku racjonalności rynkowej i skrajnej efektywności ekonomicznej tych placówek oświatowych, którą mierzy się głównie oceną zewnętrzną.

Pojęcie „świętowanie” wiąże się z pojęciem „święto”, które z antropologicznego punktu widzenia oznacza „powtarzalne doświadczenie obrzędowe, zdolne «prze-kształcać czas» wraz z pewną «modyfikacją symboliczną»” . Owe powtarzalne do-świadczenia obrzędowe wskazują na związek świętowania z kulturą. Jeżeli zaś doty-czą pracy człowieka, wiążemy je z kulturą pracy. Analiza tych wszystkich relacji ma istotne znaczenie dla zrozumienia sensu świętowania w budowaniu własnego człowieczeństwa. Już z tego stwierdzenia wynika praktyczny wniosek: święto powinno być dniem odmiennym od innych. W czym owa odmienność świętowania powinna się wyrażać?

The second part of the article describes the theoretical and methodological basis of work pedagogy. The author presented the contribution of the Institute for Vocational Educa-tion into the development of basis of work pedagogy. The significant role has been also played by cyclic seminars All-Poland Seminar of Work Pedagogy, which were a scien-tific school of prof. Tadeusz Nowacki and people from his close circle: Z. Wiatrowskiego, S. Kaczora, K. Czarneckiego in 70s and 80s. The circle of work pedagogy’s authors was extended in 90s by the following professors: Stefan Kwiat-kowski, W. Furmanek, R. Parzęcki, K. Uździcki, E. Malewska, A. Bogaj, J. Niemiec. The author of the article has presented the conferences, scientific seminars and signifi-cant scientific achievements of work pedagogy’s authors. The article includes also the lists of conferences, seminars, publications significant for the development of theoretical and methodological basis of work pedagogy.

The article is part of the issues of work pedagogy and work sociology - both disciplines have common problem areas and conceptual categories, such as, inter alia, profession. The question I ask in the essay concerns the factors determining the durability of the director’s position in Polish public theatres. The empirical material is primarily free interviews that I conducted with Director Jacek Głomb and the actors employed in his Theatre. Analysis of the special situation at the Theatre in Legnica shows a combination of exogenous and endogenous factors conducive to maintaining power in a theatre institution. The uniqueness of this „management in culture” can be a model for other leaders who decide to run a theatre.

Artykuł wpisuje się w problematykę pedagogiki pracy i socjologii pracy - obie dyscypliny mają wspólne pola problemowe i kategorie pojęciowe (m.in. zawód). Pytanie, które stawiam w artykule, dotyczy czynników decydujących o trwałości urzędu dyrektorskiego w polskich teatrach publicznych. Materiałem empirycznym są m.in. wywiady swobodne, które przeprowadziłam z Dyrektorem Jackiem Głombem i aktorami zatrudnionymi w kierowanej przez niego placówce. Analiza specyfiki zarządzania Teatrem im. Heleny Modrzejewskiej w Legnicy pokazuje splot czynników egzogennych i endogennych sprzyjających utrzymaniu władzy w instytucji teatralnej. Wyjątkowość owego ‘zarządzania w kulturze’ może być wzorem dla innych liderów, decydujących się na prowadzenie teatru.

The study shows the current teaching achievements and the contribution to the development of research on career guidance in Poland of the academic community of Częstochowa. Analize based on the literature on the subject and source materials from the archives of private employees – initially of the Pedagogical University, and today – of the Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa. At the beginning, the historical outline of the development of career counseling in Poland was presented in order to demonstrate the originality of the activities of the characterized research environment. The beginnings of the development of the field of study, the structure of the teaching and research staff and the achievements of its members, as well as a list of research carried out at the university in Częstochowa were presented.

W opracowaniu ukazano dotychczasowy dorobek dydaktyczny i wkład w rozwój badań nad poradnictwem zawodowym w Polsce częstochowskiego środowiska akademickiego. Analizy dokonano na podstawie literatury przedmiotu i materiałów źródłowych będących w archiwach prywatnych  pracowników – początkowo Wyższej Szkoły Pedagogicznej, a dziś – Uniwersytetu Jana Długosza w Częstochowie. Na wstępie przybliżono rys historyczny rozwoju poradnictwa zawodowego w Polsce, by na jego tle wykazać oryginalność działań charakteryzowanego środowiska badawczego. Przedstawiono początki kształtowania się kierunku studiów, budowę kadry dydaktyczno-badawczej i osiągnięcia jej członków oraz wykaz badań realizowanych na częstochowskiej uczelni.

The study analyzes the importance of work pedagogy in the process of shaping the future employee in the era of dynamically developing labor market. Pedagogy of work as the higher education subject provides knowledge, but above all, shapes the young people’s approach to lifelong learning. Entrepreneurship, creativity, innovation and the ability to deal with the problems the individual and the community have to cope with, are shaped. Pedagogy of work stimulates action taking in the area of self-development. It and shapes the right attitude to the surrounding reality. All these factors create a future employee equipped with specific skills enabling to respond to labor market changes.

W opracowaniu dokonano analizy znaczenia pedagogiki pracy w procesie kształtowania przyszłego pracownika w dobie dynamizmu na rynku pracy. Pedagogika pracy jako przedmiot realizowany na studiach wyższych dostarcza wiedzy, ale przede wszystkim kształtuje podejście młodej osoby do kształcenia przez całe życie. Kształtowana jest przedsiębiorczość i kreatywność, innowacyjność i umiejętności radzenia sobie z problemami jednostki i zbiorowości, pobudza do podejmowania działań w zakresie własnego rozwoju oraz kształtuje właściwy stosunek do otaczającej nas rzeczywistości. To wszystko sprawia, iż kreowany jest przyszły pracownik o określonych umiejętnościach, potrafiący reagować na pojawiające się zmiany na rynku.

In Poland work pedagogy was recognized as a scientific subdiscipline in 1972. Its development since the nineties has been led by Professor St. M. Kwiatkowski, a chairman of the Work Pedagogy Team of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The concept, theories and methodologies were elaborated and the impact on the educational practice of the Professor through specific works in which the author of the article, celebrating his anniversary, co-participated. Therefore, it is a subjective, contributory and jubilee analysis of the results of scientific work at Institute of Educational Research, Academy of Special Pedagogy, Higher Pedagogical School of Polish Teachers Association, Institute for Sustainable Technologies – National Research Institute and Work Pedagogy Team.

The article presents the feedback from the available literature and research analysis discussing the trends in the modern labour and education markets and their consequences i.e. new emerging professions. Educational needs of employees and the observed changes in vocational education, computerization of processes, impose the need for the emergence of new professions in continuing education and counselling. The article presents also the research results from the international projects that have been carried out in Work Pedagogy of Innovative Economy Centre of ITeE – PIB in Radom on defining a new role of new professions in the future: Innovations` Manager, Mentor, Tutor, Environmental Evaluator and selected standards of professional competences.
