The article tries to resemble the form of a review, however, the specific form of the reviewed artifact – a website that is updated daily – means that both the content and the method of its presentation, due to their variability, defy the purpose of such a description. The text therefore focuses on the idea of the website’s functioning and possible objections to the methods of presenting the content.

The paper includes the description of the experience gained during the evaluation of the Very Young Culture program (Bardzo Młoda Kultura – BMK). Very Young Culture is an innovative program whose main goal is to strengthen the organizations operating in the field of cultural education and create trans-sectoral network of entities cooperating in this field. The long term goal was to shape young people’s open attitudes, tolerance and the ability to participate critically in culture. The program’s innovation lies in the way it was managed. The author of the program is prof. Marek Krajewski from the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań. The program had a nationwide range and was carried out at the regional level. The coordinator of the program was the National Center for Culture and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The program operated on three levels - central, regional and local, and each of them provided for the implementation of an evaluation study. This article refers to the regional part of the BMK program carried out in the Lubelskie Voivodeship. The evaluation research used the triangulation of both qualitative and quantitative methods to better capture the value of the program from the perspective of different stakeholders. The method of evaluation based on the theory of the program with the dominance of qualitative methods was used. The evaluation was continuous and was intended as a learning mechanism in the implementation of the program. The problem in the evaluation of the program was the immeasurability of long-term results. For example, it was difficult to express the value of social and cultural capital, which were strengthened as a result of the program. In view of such long-term goals, an evaluation was based on short-term variables, such as the self-assessment of competences acquired by the program participants and the resulting cooperation network. The article will present the best solutions for measuring the results of the program realized in the field of culture and the proposal to measure long-term results based on existing data banks from various social research cases. The studies used a constructivist approach to evaluation. The experience gained allows to formulate conclusions regarding strengths and limitations of this approach.

Marek Krajewski z Uniwersytetu Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu. Program miał zasięg ogólnokrajowy i został przeprowadzony na poziomie regionalnym. Koordynatorem programu było Narodowe Centrum Kultury oraz Ministerstwo Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego. Program działał na trzech poziomach: centralnym, regionalnym i lokalnym, i na każdym z nich przewidziano przeprowadzenie badania ewaluacyjnego. Niniejszy artykuł odnosi się do regionalnej części programu BMK przeprowadzonej w województwie lubelskim. W badaniu ewaluacyjnym zastosowano triangulację zarówno metod jakościowych, jak i ilościowych, aby lepiej uchwycić wartość programu z perspektywy różnych zainteresowanych stron. W badaniach zastosowano konstruktywistyczne podejście do ewaluacji.

In this article, we attempt to show how the online participation in the culture influenced the adult education in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The first part presents the most important difficulties and limitations in the functioning of the cultural sector in the first period of the lock-down. Then, we presented phenomena that shaped participation in culture before the pandemic, and which were intensified during the crisis. We also characterised the main directions of changes that may take place in the functioning of cultural institutions, in relation to the experience gained from working with recipients in virtual reality.
The article World of the “silent majority as the context of the cultural education – about source of the cultural animation of the resistance” was conceived from the need of seek new forms of cultural education based on the formation process. The author points to the need for such a search in the face of accelerating civilizational development – lightning development of the communication technology and production methods, and hence the shaping of new forms of social relations. The changes which are taking place are questioning even the most elementary methods of the education. Using the terminology taken from the theories of Jean Baudrillard and Theodor Adorno the author tries to demonstrate that the educational system of social-adaptive character is standing in the face of “silent majority” – in the face of the world after the society, which as a result stops fulfilling its role. Basing his reflection on critical concepts of education, model of repressive society and model of “silent majority” the author points to meaning of diverse forms of violence (e.g. hierarchization of society, system of penalties and awards) for the reproduction of these phenomena in the institutionalized educational system. The essential part of the article constitutes seeking possibilities to create foundations for forms of cultural education taking ongoing changes into account. The author seeks such a possibility in forms of animation activities concentrated on creative process and its aspects which constitute the source of the resistance.
This article presents the social status of cultural education and the role it can play in inclusive education for adults with disabilities. The author discusses cultural education as placed in a vulnerable position ‘in between’ the pedagogy of accommodation and the pedagogy of dissent. This ‘trouble spot’ is a result of the structural dependence of cultural educators and cultural institutions on the practices and effects of the general education system where the spiral of exclusion tends to escalate, driven by the logic of ascription and mechanisms of veiled meritocracy. The latter are analysed in detail also in reference to the applicable regulations and standards of inclusive education in Poland. Based on the case study of the ‘Sztuka w ciemno’ (‘Art in Blind’) project, implemented in 2020 at the Zamek Cultural Centre in Poznań, the article reveals insufficiencies of innovative thinking in accessibility projects in the face of systemic errors, exclusions, and ‘pretend’ inclusive actions in primary and secondary education.
This article discusses the role of research and academic knowledge in the field of practices that form cultural education in Poland. Cultural education is shown here as a practice strongly embedded in the processes of socio-cultural reproduction and a space structured by the mechanisms of the post-1989 transformation of Poland. Reluctance to an in-depth diagnosis of local communities, ‘offertism’ (production of cultural events for everyone), ghost viewers are just a few most problematic features of contemporary cultural education in Poland, as revealed by studies conducted since 2016. From the first programmes of Polish culture animation, surveys and reports on cultural education to the use of research in practice, the component of knowledge in cultural education is analysed and recognised for its dialectic (based on theory and practice) and critical nature (based on the reflexivity of transformative practice). Moreover, the analysis leads also to questions about the transformative nature of action research and its actual political impact.
Rural Housewives’ Circles (KGW) are a representative example of social organisations shaped in the spirit of Polish tradition and culture. Their tasks oscillate around the dissemination of cultural education, protection, and multiplication of rural cultural heritage, but also around the development of social capital and the use of the inhabitants’ potential in the aspect of their activation for the local environment. The purpose of this article is to present the results of our own research on the directions, scope and forms of KGW activities in Warmia and Mazury (Poland) as a space for the implementation of activities in the field of lifelong education with the use of local traditions, while creating and introducing social initiative in rural areas in the experience of KGW representatives. The study used a qualitative method of individual interviews, partially guided, focused on the problem. The results of the study indicate that KGWs in Warmia and Mazury are an excellent example of innovative forms of activities of rural women’s organisations, which make full use of cultural heritage resources and determine new professional, social and educational activities of rural women residents.

Koła gospodyń wiejskich (KGW) stanowią reprezentatywny przykład organizacji społecznych ukształtowanych w duchu tradycji i kultury polskiej.
In order to obtain information on images of Russian culture rooted in the consciousness of Polish primary school students of grades VII-VIII starting formal learning of the Russian language in school conditions, a study was conducted. The method used was the analysis of documents (also called, inter alia, analysis of products, analysis of children’s and teenagers’ own works). For this purpose, research material was collected in the form of intentional documents - 100 posters made by Polish primary school students of grades VII-VIII. Particular attention was paid to the non-verbal image of Russia and Russians recorded in the minds of Polish youth. The results were used to reflect on the level of cultural competence of students beginning to learn Russian as a second modern language. It turns out that the image of Russia according to those who start learning the Russian language is usually stereotypical, and knowledge about Russia’s inhabitants is usually basic. The results also showed that a two-year period of learning a foreign language in school settings requires teachers to introduce more diverse cultural content in order to prepare students for intercultural dialogue.

Opisane w artykule badanie przeprowadzono w celu pozyskania informacji na temat wyobrażeń o kulturze rosyjskiej zakorzenionych w świadomości polskich uczniów szkoły podstawowej kl. VII–VIII, rozpoczynających formalną naukę języka rosyjskiego w warunkach szkolnych. Jako metodę zastosowano analizę dokumentów. Zebrano materiał badawczy w postaci dokumentów intencjonalnych – 100 plakatów wykonanych przez polskich uczniów szkoły podstawowej kl. VII–VIII.

Komiksowy przewodnik historyczno-kulturowy.
In Poland, sponsorship of culture and science has been developing since the 1990s when the political transformation forced the search for new sources of funding for artistic, educational or cultural activities. Nowadays, many companies engage in sponsoring culture or education as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy. Thanks to this, educational and cultural institutions such as schools, theatres, philharmonics, museums and galleries can implement ambitious projects that would not be possible without the financial support of business partners. This article will present the forms and models of business support for education and culture, the aims and divisions of sponsorship, their relevance for culture and science, and the barriers to sponsorship in culture/cultural education. It is also important to point out the benefits of sponsorship and the factors for good cooperation.

The aim of the article is to analyze the Core curriculum for comprehensive education in primary schools valid since September 2017, and early education textbooks of the WSiP publishing series: School Friends, in terms of cultural education. The author focused on the analysis of social values and norms as leading elements in the educational impact of the school, but also on the range of tangible and symbolic aspects of culture included in the above sources. In case of the core curriculum, the analysis of the documents includes the objectives of primary school education as well as the objectives and contents of education in grades 1-3. The study concerns the system of values that the authors of the textbooks want to pass on to future generations, and the attitudes they consider the most important. It also refers to the way in which the textbooks show reality in its various dimensions: social, material and political, taking into account the age and perceptual abilities of the recipients. According to the research results, in comparison to the accusations made against the previously applicable core curriculum, this one contains references to timeless values of good, truth and beauty, and to some specific values related to patriotism and civic education. Also, the authors of the current core curriculum place less emphasis on the creative attitudes of students and their knowledge of human achievements in the field of music or art. The authors of the textbooks emphasize teaching students social norms and values important both at school and in the family. The image of the world presented in the textbooks is somewhat idealized and stereotypical.

Zastosowana analiza dokumentów w przypadku podstawy programowej obejmuje swym zakresem cele kształcenia w szkole podstawowej oraz cele i treści kształcenia w klasach I–III.

In modern education, teaching through art and experience is substituting learning by memorization. An example is provided by activities conducted by artists in Polish schools, where art and learning meet (according to STEAM Theory). The Art of Engagement belongs to new educational trends, where creative activities and art lead to acquisition of knowledge and skills in various areas. As a result of experiences of one of the resident artists and a group of teenagers from the Youth Sociotherapy Centre No. 8 in Radość, a certain model of cooperation between an artist and the school has been developed. It is consistent with new trends in pedagogy and it has been presented in this article. The aim of the described activities is an introduction of connective and creative methods into the education system by an artist-educator. These methods have led the participants to ego states cooperation.

Rezydencje Artystyczne. Sztuka Zaangażowania wpisuje się w nowe trendy edukacyjne, gdzie działania twórcze i sztuka prowadzą do nabywania wiedzy i umiejętności w przeróżnych kierunkach.
The notions of cultural education and culture-oriented education are often used interchangeably in practice and pedagogical theory. However, due to their different meanings and different uses in various contexts, such overlapping use of these concepts often leads to misunderstandings, not only in pedagogy, but also in cultural studies. Taking these factors into consideration, the author approaches this challenge from a wider perspective, namely, by examining different conceptualizations ascribed to cultural education during the post-1989 transformation in Poland (including key reports on cultural education). The author draws basic conclusions on the basis of these considerations.

Edukacja kulturalna i edukacja kulturowa to dwa często wymiennie stosowane w praktyce i teorii pedagogicznej wyrażenia.
