This paper is an effort at, as broad as possible, overview of English-language articles on empirical research into recruitment and selection processes. It is the intention of the author to demonstrate a possibility to utilize the results of worldwide studies to improve practice and build a comprehensive and cohesive model of the recruitment and selection process. The outcome is a set of guidelines that may be applied to meet the needs of practice and scientific research.
