Buber is one of the leading representatives of the philosophy of dialogue – a current also called the philosophy of encounter or the philosophy of the other – which emerged as a separate trend after the First World War. In contrast to thinking, which seeks to present the human being within the existing system, the philosophy of dialogue rejects the prevailing philosophy of the subject and opposes the possibility of the subjective experience of the other. The place of a lonely, rational subject is taken by the fully autonomous other, with whom engaging in direct dialogue is possible. Describing different areas of relationships in which humans live, Martin Buber is looking for possibilities of a true encounter which would eventually become a manifestation of meaning. The aim of this study is to present the human dialogical lifestyle, the way leading to the discovery of the true nature of relationships and their pedagogical inspirations.
