The paper traces the trajectories of possible modes of thinking about judicial integrity, offering a doctrinal discussion of the concept with practical applications. It addresses judicial integrity via legislative deliberation in the Parliament and it discusses moral integrity from the Slovak Judicial Code of Conduct as interpreted in opinions by the Judicial Council. Inspirations from the Bangalore Principles of Judicial Conduct and conceptualisations of integrity from key theorists in the field of philosophical legal ethics supplement these accounts. The paper thus outlines the tension between statutory and code definitions of integrity and offers a definition of integrity as a disposition to act according to the values and principles required by the role of the judge. Being the disposition the concept of integrity is binary, however, as disposition is manifested in behaviour, it can be tested on a scale.
