Autor rozpatruje kwestie Polaków, a zwłaszcza zastanawia się nad tym, jakie mają oni możliwości rozwijania swojej tożsamości narodowej w Czechach. Zastanawia się, co pozwala im właściwie rozwijać polską kulturę, tradycję, obyczaje, folklor, język w środowisku polonijnym, reprezentując mniejszość narodowościową w Republice Czeskiej.

The author considers the question of Polish people, particularly of what possibilities they have to develop their ethnic identity in Czech Republic. The author analyses the factors enabling them to cultivate Polish culture, traditions, customs, folklore and language properly in Polish community, which represents ethnic minority in Czech Republic.

In the article the author attempts to present the translation process associated with the concept of “the triad”: identification – interpretation – translation (and the different variations of it). The author gives examples where cultural components also play a significant role in the reception of the translated text (the method of selecting between foreignization and domestication – including folk terminology). In the study, excerpts from different domains of the Holy Scriptures serve a purpose as research materials. The author notices that translation includes the signs of creativity, which give the translator the right for inventiveness and in some cases even free interpretation, which directly corresponds with the objective thesis about ethical and social frames over translation processes of management, especially in the field of written texts.

In this article the Author focuses on issues related to the widely understood process of translation. The subject of the analysis are mainly Czech and Polish biblical verses which use proper names (geographical terminology and executive functions performed). At this point, the Author analyses cultural elements - perceived as figure translation – that is the way they were transferred from the source text to the target text. During the process of translation one may observe the phenomenon associated with both foreignization and domestication (depending on the kind of translation). One is also dealing with a mirror image of the original text, widely understood linguistic adaptation and conversion, direct transfer, definitional development, the so-called metatranslational mistakes consisting in reducing the cultural element or functional equivalence translation. The translated biblical realities narrowed down to, for example, geographical names, means of payment or executive functions performed may be connected with cognitive models, sometimes giving them different terminology, which could be culturally conditioned.
