The article discusses the methodological aspects of family pedagogy. Taking into account the fact that family pedagogy is a subdiscipline of pedagogy, three basic areas of research were distinguished. The first one applies to conducting research relating to the genesis of family pedagogy. The second area is the study of contemporary pedagogy implemented in a family. The third one refers to the use of the research results of empirical studies for continuous improvement of education in a family and to create programs that would be serve as a help to construct a model for the development of activities for the family.

W artykule omówiono aspekty metodologiczne pedagogiki rodziny. Biorąc pod uwagę fakt, że pedagogika rodziny jest subdyscypliną pedagogiczną, wyróżniono trzy jej podstawowe płaszczyzny badawcze. Pierwsza płaszczyzna dotyczy prowadzenia badań odnoszących się do genezy pedagogiki rodziny. Drugą płaszczyznę stanowią badania dotyczące współcześnie realizowanej pedagogii w rodzinie. Trzecia płaszczyzna badawcza porusza kwestię możliwości wykorzystania wyników badań empirycznych dla stałego udoskonalania wychowania w rodzinie oraz tworzenia programów, które służyłyby pomocą dla opracowywania modeli działań wobec rodziny.

One of the most important question at present times is a question concerning educational role of parents especially fundamental truths about their rights in bringing up their children. The article discusses truths related to a family as a basic educational environment. A motive for choosing The Book of Proverbs to some analysis about this is a fact that this source is a part of The Old Testament and it is the underlying cause of educational systems formulation. Main themes include: parents` rights to bring up children, parents` dignity as tutors and childrens` improper behaviour towards their parents.
